Snipe Cottage Sleeps 4 (2 Bedrooms)

Snipe Cottage has an entrance hall leading to a drying room/toilet with a washer/dryer. There is a large lounge/diner with Freeview TV/DVD, and a leather sofa and chair, this has panoramic views down the valley through a large picture window. Off this is a modern well equipped kitchen with granite work tops, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric oven, microwave and ceramic hob. Upstairs there is a master bedroom with metal framed double bed with extra deep memory foam topper for added luxury, ensuite bathroom with walk in shower and a second bedroom with twin beds and a separate family bathroom with bath and shower.

The cottage has underfloor heating downstairs and in all the bathrooms and designer radiators in all the bedrooms.

Ridgehead Farm Cottages were created in 2008 by converting a 200 year old historic barn into 2 luxury cottages, they are both rated at the top end of 4 star by the tourist board. Set at 1500ft on a 80 acre equine farm within a site of Special Scientific Interest, they offer stunning views and year round peace and tranquillity yet are conveniently located for local amenities and exploring the Peak District. Each cottage has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and sleeps 4 so are perfect for families or couples, the 2 cottages can be booked together (10% discount) to sleep 8. With underfloor heating downstairs and in all bathrooms they provide a warm, cosy retreat at the end of the day.

About Jo Bednall

Ridgehead Farm originally formed part of the Harper-Crewe Estate but then fell derelict, the main buildings were rebuilt some 25 years ago. In 2008 an historic barn on the farm was painstakingly converted by us into two luxury holiday cottages.

I have lived at the farm for 16 years with my husband Clive and our 13 year old daughter Lucy and a variety of pets.

I have had a lifelong love of horses which has been passed onto Lucy, we both regularly compete at local and regional competitions, consequently the equine facilities at the farm have been vastly improved.

We live in the main farmhouse approx 100m from the cottages and are there to offer you a warm welcome on arrival and available to offer local advice and answer any queries during your stay.

Fantastic cottage in a beautiful location

We had a fantastic weekend at the cottage. The views are simply stunning. The cottage is very well done out and easily fits four adults.

Just perfect

We have just spent a week exploring and walking in the beautiful Dales with our young labrador. Coming back each evening to the lovely, warm, comfortable and well equipped cottage was just perfect for us all. Highly recommended property.

Further Details:

The nearest pub is the Winking Man which is 3/4 mile away. There is an excellent fish and chip shop in the local village of Longnor which is 3mls along with other pubs.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: On arrival there will be a welcome basket with tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and a bottle of wine. All towels, bed linen, washing up liquid, washing powder, conditioner and dishwasher tablets are provided. Cot and high chair are available on request. Ample private parking available adjacent to the cottages, undercover for bikes and motor bikes. Outside: There is a large flagged patio shared between both cottages with garden furniture and bbq, it offers stunning views into the valley. There are 80 acres of private moorland and ponds, ideal for quiet evening walks or dog walks. Check out time is 10am but if no-one is arriving the same day we are happy for you to stay later, please ask.
