Free Wi-Fi is now available. Unusual spacious property being a former Brewery and artists studio on three floors offering a large family living space incorporating the kitchen, dining and living areas on the top floor. This room also has a huge skylight which make it very light and airy. There are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on the floor below and garage and utility room at the ground floor. It has a patio and rock garden outside which will seat 8 with distant views to the hills beyond. The house stands to the rear of a courtyard away from the main road where the rear entrance and car parking are also situated. The front entrance leads to the patio and down a path to the road from which it is a short and level 2 minute walk into town.

About Charles Kirkman

Christine and I live in Baslow just 4 miles from Bakewell and so are able to be on hand to look after our cottages and our guests if there are any problems. We have a local business which provides services all over the Peak District and so we love the area and know it well and are always pleased to give local information to help you make the most of your stay.

Why Charles Kirkman chose Derbyshire Dales

Brew House is such an unusual property in that it offers the friends or family group the opportunity to socialise together in warm comfortable surroundings whatever activities you want to do.It is very close to the centre of town yet is also quiet and has great amenities in parking and accommodation.

Christine and I moved to the area 18 years ago and set up a business providing services to local residents and businesses which has enabled us to become a part of the community and also get to know the area very well.

We love the beauty of the countryside and the diversity of the different villages, the local customs and festivals and of course the people who live here.

Bakewell is the centre of the Peak District and is a tourist attraction in itself, but it also makes the surrounding area very accessible by car, on foot or by public transport.

What makes this house unique

Brew House is very spacious and rather unusual as it is an "upside down" house. The benefits of this are that the large living space makes a very light and warm area where everybody can get together and enjoy one another's company whether cooking, eating or just relaxing. Free Wi-Fi is now also available.

There are very few if any other houses available in Bakewell with the accommodation the Brew House offers in having 3 bedrooms and bathrooms and parking for 3 cars all within 300 yds of the Town Centre.

The walk into town is flat and level and so is very easy giving great access to the shops, pubs and restaurants without getting the car out.

Notes on accommodation: A superb family or group property because of the large, light and warm living space which enables everyone to be together whether they are cooking, eating or just relaxing. It also has direct access to the outside space which is a sun trap. The house has the luxury of each of the 3 bedrooms having their own bathroom yet the house is just 300 yd level walk into the centre of Bakewell with its pubs, restaurants and shops. The parking for 3 cars comprises a garage suitable for medium and small cars, a parking area behind for any car and a street Permit Parking at a nearby parking area. Bakewell is a lively market town in the centre of the beautiful Peak District National Park giving easy access to sights such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, the Caverns of Castleton or Alton Towers. On the doorstep is the beauty of Lathkill Dale and Dovedale, the drama of the Dark Peak area and many pretty villages where you can walk, cycle or just soak up the atmosphere. Outside: There is a patio and rock garden to the front with extensive views and direct access from the Living room. There is a table and chairs to seat 6 and 2 further deck chairs. There are also spare chairs in the house suitable for use outside as well. Utility Room: Separate washing machine and tumble drier, drying rack, ironing board and iron. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels, bed linen, tea towels and dishcloths are all included. The property is cleaned after every changeover or once a week.

Terrific location, charming place

Very welcoming apartment in charming Bakewell. Clean, spacious, well appointed. Bright and clean. The sky-light adds fantastic light. The beds are comfortable, and each with its own bathroom. Just a pleasant short walk into town for pubs, bakeries, and grocery store. Highly recommended. We especially enjoyed renting bikes on the Monsail bike trail for a lovely afternoon.

Ideal location and very well equipped

Ideal location just a short walk from the town centre. Very well equipped kitchen and living area, there isn't much that the owners haven't thought of. Generous rooms with plenty of communal space and a good outside area. Parking is absolutely fine for one car, we had no problems at all with a fairly large car. In summary, we would definitely stay here again. We regularly hire cottages in the UK and this is possibly the best we have stayed in for all round location, quality of accommodation and in our opinion, the most thought that has gone in to what you might need as a guest for a week away

Fabulous house shame about the neighbours

Well as the title suggests myself and my 4 other friends absolutely loved the Brew House. What was not to löve. The 3 bedrooms were all of a good size and the 2 ensures and third bathroom meant the 2 couples and what should have been a third couple, had her husband not had to work,all had their own bathroom. The large open plan kitchen dining sitting area meant at no time was anyone shut away and the electrically operated recliners in the sitting area were comfort personified.

The parking was a slight issue not helped by the person with a foreign number plate parking across the driveway of the house and the unfriendly and unhelpful note advising us that we were blocking the bin area. It's good to talk and a knock on the door would have soved the problem in a much more diplomatic fashion. The garage under the house is tight for any car other than compact ones and our 3 series BMW and Nissan qashqi were far from compact but public car parks were a short stroll away so that remedied the problem and the private driveway allowed us to park one car albeit that the foreign licence plated car did make it tricky to get out and in. Apart from that the house is fabulous the town amazing and I would highly recommend it to anyone. The welcome pack of bread tea coffee and milk were very welcome touches. Just loved the brew house and would love to return one day soon that you so much for providing such a lovely house for us to rent.

Owner's Response: We are delighted our guests loved Brew House and its facilities which make it so comfortable. Parking in Bakewell is at an absolute premium and it is most unusual for any property to be able to offer parking for 3 cars as we do at Brew House. Unfortunately they didn't follow our parking instructions correctly and so blocked our neighbors access with the resulting note, pointing out that there are 3 parking spaces for Brew House and these should be used correctly. It is also unfortunate that they didn't have the confidence to use the garage which whilst not large is perfectly adequate for the cars they specify. In fact just the following week a Nissan Qashqi was parking in there and still left access to the back door. Fortunately our guests didn't allow these small hiccups to spoil their holiday nor their pleasure in staying in Brew House itself.

Perfect for the Peaks

Excellently located for Bakewell and the Peak District. Very comfortable accommodation for the six of us - everything we needed. Two of us had stayed there before; and all six would definitely book again!

I met the group who were great guests and who appreciated the new bathrooms, the new wall mounted 43 inch 4k TV, reclining leather sofas as well as the parking facilities and proximity to town. Lovely house in the perfect place.

Perfect house for 3 couples and a dog. Read a few negative comments about parking and the garage is a little tight if you have a large car but we parked one of the smaller cars in there, another outside the garage and the 3rd over the road. Perfect and we didn't need to use them again. There are plenty of facilities in very easy walking distance in Bakewell. Every shop, pub and restaurant you could wish for. Beautiful walks from the doorstep. The house was so well equipped, everything you could possibly need, lots of room for 6, very comfortable and clean. Cosy in winter and I'm sure lovely in better weather. We cooked in the 1st night, had a meal at The Manners and ordered takeout on the 3rd night. The Manners was so good we went back for a roast on Sunday. Essential to book though. Everywhere, even the shops allowed dogs in, Fat Face even had dog treats on the counter! Only problem was in4 days we couldn't do the area justice, wish we'd booked for a wek

Perfect

Cannot fault this property. The location was perfect. The rooms were exactly as advertised. For 3 couples there was enough space to ensure not on top of each other, but could enjoy each other's company. My only regret is that due to the time of year we didn't use the terrace, because we all reckoned it would be idyllic in the summer. Maybe next time.

If you are a cyclist or walkers we can help with local trails and walks. There are several cycle trails for the less adventurous or children such as the Monsall Trail or Tissington Trail which are both old railway lines and so are relatively flat and easy to navigate. There are of course many hill tracks and trails where we can give advice.

There is fly fishing available on the River Wye.
