Vale da Lama is a tranquil rural area, 3km or 5minutes from the local village of Odiaxere, 7km or 10 minutes from the larger town of Lagos and 82 km or 60 minutes from Faro airport. Mei Praia beach and the brand-new 27-hole Palmares golf course are both nearby,0.5 km. Within the gardens there are two heated swimming pools, an infinity pool and a children’s pool, surrounded by plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas so you can relax and unwind. There is also a separate children’s play area, flood lite tennis court, a fully equipped gym with a sauna and indoor Jacuzzi. The apartments are spacious, tastefully decorated and extremely well equipped, including air conditioning. Patio doors lead out onto large terraces with great sea views, ideal to enjoy a sun downer or al-fresco dining.

We live near Aljezur in the Western Algarve, on a small quinta and we have two donkeys, Dotty and Dudley and several goats. We have lived here for just over 5 years, and we love the Algarve and enjoy bird watching and walking. The Algarve is a fantastic holiday destination and we hope you enjoy our holiday apartment!

Special interest holidays:
If you are keen Bird Watchers, the apartment overlooks the spectacular designated area of the Alvor estuary, which is a beautiful protected lagoon, surrounded by extensive sand dunes. Because of the proximity to coast and mountains, it is a good base for Walking Holidays, especially between late September to early June. Horse Riding, there are three riding centres near the apartments. The Lagos area in particular has some of the best tracks and downhill trails for Mountain Biking in the Algarve. You can either hire a bike and be independent or join a guided group. Lagos and west coast of the Algarve offer some of the best conditions for many Water sports including Surfing, Kite Surfing, wake boarding , Sailing , windsurfing, sea kayaking and Scuba Diving. The Autodromo do Algarve Race Track is near Odiaxere. It hosts lots of events including Superbike Championships, FIA GT1 World Championships and track days for motorbikes and cars, as well as Go Karting.
There are many fantastic beaches near the apartments, in fact some of the best in the Algarve. They include the wonderful 4kms of golden sands along Meia Praia and the smaller Batata Beach, which are both within walking distance of the apartments. Also located near the apartment and Lagos is Dona Ana Beach with it's spectacular rock formations nestling beneath the cliffs, the small sheltered Camilo Beach on the way to Ponta de Piedade, and the beautiful sandy bay of Porto de Mós Beach.
Faro is the nearest airport, 82 km or 60 minutes from the apartment.
Car hire or the use of a car is strongly advised, as the location is rural.

Extra notes on accommodation:
Children welcome, as Foz da Ria is a closed condominium providing a secure environment. July and August are the busiest months with more owners staying and more holiday rentals.
Cleaning / towels/ linen/ maid service:
All towels are included for personal use. The property is cleaned mid week. Bed linen and towels are changed weekly. Extra maid service can be provided if required for an additional charge.
Amenities / Facilities:
There is a safe for valuables within apartment All windows and patio doors have security shutters. There is secure car parking. The following can be arranged on booking for an extra charge: welcome packs or small shop, additional single beds & linen, cots, high chairs, cool boxes and picnic baskets. We can also arrange airport transfers and car hire.
We recommend you to take a stroll and explore the town to see what Odiaxere has to offer. The village has plenty of good restaurants, with the food being more traditional compared to the nearby coastal town of Lagos. A lunch can be as little €6 - €8 including wine. The many small bars offer meeting places for the locals, as well as the daily indoor Market, where you will often see them playing cards and dominoes in the shade. Fresh fish arrives daily (except Sunday) at the Market. If you prefer some night-life, you will enjoy staying at the apartment, as the bars are lively and sociable in the evenings. The following services and shops can be found in Odiaxere. Note that general trading hours are from 09:00 - 12:30 and 14:30 - 19:00 (season depending), half day Saturdays and closed on Sundays.

After we have answered your enquiry and confirmed availability, You will receive confirmation of your booking.
A deposit of 50% is required within 3 days of receiving the booking confirmation to secure it, to be paid by bank transfer. The remaining 50% is to be paid by bank transfer 14 days before of your arrival date.
Changeover day is usually a Saturday, check-in time is after 16.00 and check-out time is before 10.00, unless agreed otherwise in advance. Arrival and departure days and check in and out times maybe flexible so please enquire.
Notes on prices:
Prices for the property are in € Euro per week and stays of less then a week will be charged pro-rata, and are subject to availability. Discounts are available for long lets. Prices include towels, linen and one end of full week clean. Towels and linen are changed weekly. Extra maid service is available at a cost of €11 per hour. We can arrange extra single beds & linen, cots, high chairs. The apartment also has a double sofa bed in the lounge.

- Notes on accommodation: The main bedrooms have large king size beds (can be split into two singles). Second bedroom has 2 singles, all have fitted wardrobes with safe. Bathrooms have Villeroy & Boch fittings, including Spa Bath with massage shower unit. The kitchens have a complete range of Siemens appliances including fridge freezer, electric hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and washer dryer. There are black granite worktops and cherry wood cupboards. The kitchens are well equipped to cater for four or six people comfortably, including coffee machine, toaster etc. A spacious living room / dinning area, with dining table, easily accommodate 2 leather sofas one of which converts to a double sofa bed. There is satellite TV, all rooms are air conditioned with American Cherry wood parquet floors, except for the bathroom and kitchen where there are ceramic tiles. Patio doors from living areas and bedrooms open onto large terrace with views out over the estuary. There is secure parking and internet access. Outside: With a large partially covered terrace to the front of the apartment, there is plenty of room for alfresco dining and to enjoy the views. There is also a smaller covered terrace at the rear. Outside there are large landscaped gardens, with two solar heated pebble swimming pools, one infinity pool and a pool specifically for children, surrounded by plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas. There is also a separate children’s play area and a flood lite tennis court. There are plenty of areas around the pool and garden for sunbathing or sitting in the shade enjoying a good book! As part of the reception area there is a fully equipped gym with a sauna and indoor Jacuzzi. There is a secure underground car parking space with the apartment, but there is also ample parking just outside the entry and reception area.
