Guestbook comments from the owner

Fantastic spot, spotlessly clean cottage, lovely hosts.

Peaceful yet within eay reach of all amenities. Beautiful cottage with all mod. cons! Sunshine was lovely too!

We stay in Ryedale Cottage which is all on one level and proved just perfect for us oldies! With a larger picture window and disabled parking in front it was just what we needed. Cottage perfect and cream tea on our arrival was nice.

We spent 5 lovely days in this very cosy and clean cottages with beautiful daffs and primroses and cute white alpacas and singing birds around them. The owners of the property are very friendly, it was really one unforgettable stay in the beautiful North Yorkshire!

Quiet cottage on farm

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this quiet cottage located outside of Helmsley. Our children (6 and 9) especially liked the farm animals. The cottage was exactly as advertised, and had wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. It is located close to many of the historic sites of North Yorkshire. There is a trail connecting the cottage to Helmsley, but we did not use it. Helmsley has many restaurants and two small grocery stores, along with a fantastic castle.I defintely recommend this cottage to families with small children who need more space than a hotel.

Spacious and clean

  • 4 of 5

The house is very pleasant with good parking and a landlady who communicates readily. Alpacas graze in a nearby field and can be seen from the bedrooms which were a delightful surprise. Although the quality of the accommodation is superb with beautiful cotton bed linen and big fridge freezer, with a yummy little lemon cake on arrival, there are otherwise almost no basics supplied there so you do need to take everything with you, eg there was a scraping f washing up liquid , only enough for one washing up even by saying out the bottle, and one toilet roll, about ten tea bags and some sugar/coffee/milk sachets but that's all. Shop in Helmsley was open in the evening though so we got supplies in.

Lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

A lovely spacious cottage that has everything you will need for a relaxing holiday. Gorgeous views from all of the windows and lots of space for kids to run around! There is a little village a 5 min drive that has takeaways, supermarkets and pubs and it is only a 40min drive into York. Would definitely recommend staying here and the owner is very helpful and will answer even the most silly questions!
