Very good value for money

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is very cosy and comfortable and child friendly. All the descriptions on the website are accurate and everything in the cottage was clean and well-maintained. Carolyn and Peter are very helpful and obliging. Lymington is a lovely town. This is the second year my family have stayed in this cottage and in all probability will look forward to staying there again next year.

lovely little cottage in a great central location

  • 5 of 5

We've just returned from a 4 night stay in the cottage. It's a lovely little cottage, and suited us perfectly, a family with 3 kids, one of whom is a toddler (cot provided). The house is v child friendly, with doors to prevent little ones from roaming up stairs or in the kitchen unsupervised and a fully enclosed garden. Lots of lovely little touches like fresh flowers, milk and biscuits on arrival. A great location, only a few minutes walk to the centre of town. We'd love to go back.

A really good place to stay, great for a baby !

  • 5 of 5

We were three adults and a baby and we stayed at Footprints for three nights. The cottage was very well equipped and cared for with excellent attention to detail. The living area, with a door at the bottom of the stairs and gate between the kitchen and dining area make it perfect for a crawling baby, really safe.

The garden is lovely too, very quiet and sunny with a nice little lawn and comfy garden furniture and lots of birds, we were even left seed to feed the birds with!

The cottage is really near to the centre of Lymington and all sorts of other amenities too, Library, Museum and Art gallery, swimming pool etc.You have a quiet, safe little retreat but a few minutes takes you right in to the heart of things.

Definitely a good place to stay !

Comfortable cottage close to all amenities

  • 4 of 5

Footprints was spacious (our Sons 19 and 22 shared bunk room) and was well equipped, including a decent shower. It had quality bedding and towels and comfortable beds. We enjoyed eating in the little garden and watching the birds eat their way through all those sunflower seeds!!Car stayed on drive all week as everything was close at hand. Enjoyed day trip to Isle of Wight, Open Top Bus Tour of New Forest, Bucklers Hard and lovely walks including Hurst Spit/castle where we got a great view of The Needles. Shops and restaurants were just around the corner. All clean and tidy when we arrived, with milk in the fridge and flowers/wine on the side. Owner responded quickly to our original enquiry and acknowledged all emails/payments with the same efficiency. Many thanks - we had a great week. 😄

Quirky

  • 3 of 5

Overall the property has everything you need. There is a parking space as explained in the details. As we walked into the property there is quite a smell of damp which we put down to the age of the cottage but it does also come from the furniture.

Even though it smelt damp the property is clean.

The stairs are very steep as stated in the details.

There is as a secluded garden which was safe for our dog.

The location to get into town was perfect apart from it being on quite a busy road when getting your car out. We spent majority of our time out as there are very nice restaurants and pubs in the area which allow dogs in. Also the Isle of Wight is a good place to visit. A little tip is to book your ferry ticket online as you then have no queue to wait in.

We will pay Lymington another visit.

Owner's Response: Thank you for this review... As Owners, we are constantly trying to improve Footprints 👣 and therefore welcome feedback... On this occasion, previous guests had spilt a quantity of water on the carpet and this along with the age of the property...we feel was responsible for the damp smell. However, we would like to comment that the furniture was not affected, but the area where the spillage had occurred was near the sofa...This has all now been rectified.... Re..traffic conditions.... Lymington is generally a quiet little town ; but during school holidays, it can get busier...
