About Jennifer Chisholm

This was my childhood home and although I have lived in the Midlands for 40 years I need to come back to the sea and mountains as often as I can. The house has been much loved and I only hope that guests will love it too.

Jennifer Chisholm purchased this house in 1997

Why Jennifer Chisholm chose Porthmadog

I bought the property from my parents to enable them to enjoy living there and have peace of mind with no financial worries. I love the area so much that I can't let the place go so decided to try holiday lets to help pay for the upkeep. I want people to enjoy my home and the surrounding areas.

What makes this house unique

I love being able to leave my car and walk with the dog to all the lovely places. I can spend hours enjoying the mountain and sea views. The house is comfortable but not so posh that you end up worrying about using it. Everything I need is on my doorstep.

Enjoyed our stay

  • 5 of 5

Very roomy, comfortable and clean house. We had 3 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs and suited us really well. Walking distance to all the shops, and very convenient for Betwys y Coed, Portmeiron, Barmouth etc. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great location in lovely North Wales.

  • 5 of 5

Hi, just back from a lovely week in Porthmadog, North Wales, the house has everything for a comfortable stay. One of the best things is being in the middle of the town it,s very quiet ,parking is ok as car,s come and go all day. Self catering is easy as there is plenty of cooking equipment to cook for 6 poeple with a nice dining room to eat in, theres a washing machine in the kitchen and tumble dryer in the shed in the yard ,and dryer if it stays fine ! chest freezer in the shed to !

Entry is by a key safe by the front door and spare set of keys inside for you.

Four bedrooms of good size upstairs, seperate toilet and bathroom with bath and shower, loads of hot water from the combi boiler.

Nice lounge with two leather setees,tv and dvd player, loads of room , the flagged back yard has table and chairs if you are lucky with the weather.

Food shopping, spar in the High street (easy 5 min walk) and lots of small shops selling a great range of food, at the roundabout, top of the street, turn right for the Tesco supermarket(and fuel) straight across the roundabout (cricieth road) 5 mins in the car Aldi and Liddle await !

Eating out ,left out of the front door, right at the end of the street very good fish and chip shop,5 min walk, main street lots of cafes, most of which close by 5pm ,the Australia pub up towards the harbour is very good ,no food mon, tues, get there early its busy ! opposite behind the play park the Ship inn is good to, Spooners bar at the railway station , the Indian takeaway near the Spar is excellent (takeaway to) the chinese takeaway on the roundabout is the one the locals use. Just over the street is the Red lion pub (no food ) locals use it for a drink very colourful but welcoming !

The Festiniog railway by the harbour has two lovely trips ,all day to Caernarfon or shorter trip to Blaenau Ffestiniog great for everyone, scenery to die for, the fantastic castles of Wales are all within easy reach by car Cricieth 15 mins (and the lovely beach) Harlech 30 mins ,Dolwyddelan 30 mins ,Conwy an hour ,Caerarfon 45 mins ,all the drives are stunning, buses available all day,Angelsey about an hour.

Jennifer is alwys available for any problems and very helpful great place to stay and central for all North wales, cheers, ian.

Fantastic location, very helpful owner. We had a lovely stay.

  • 5 of 5

Very good location, we really enjoyed our stay. Porthmadog is a lovely little town to potter around and we had some lovely day trips to Portmerion, Snowdon, and on the railway. There were a few teething problems with the house as we were the first of the season to stay, but Jenny the owner was brilliant about it, very helpful and keen to sort things out and ensure we enjoyed our stay. The house was comfortable and we had everything we needed, lovely to have a courtyard garden, we were lucky enough to have a beautiful sunny week, so could sit outside.
