Sleeping eight with two double bedrooms and one with twin bunk beds. The Perks has a stair lift and downstairs shower room for less able visitors. The Perks is a three bedroomed semi detached house with good sized rear garden and sea views, close to the north bay of Scarborough, all amenities within walking distance. off street parking for up to three regular cars making an ideal family accommodation. Bed linen, gas and electricity plus broadband connection are all included - please bring your own towels.

Clean, well equipped,accommodation.

The house has all the comforts of home. Spacious to allow me time, prime location, beautiful secure established garden, comfy beds, I will definitely return with the kids, they loved all the fun packed amenities. Even a mobility scooter should you need the use of one! Sea views from rear bedrooms, I cannot think of one negative.

We are a family of four who originally came to Scarborough to visit family and now after over twenty years, consider it our second home. We particularly love Scarborough and the Yorkshire area because of the vast array of things to do and see. Whether a quite time rambling across the countryside and coastal paths or a busier time in the towns and villages. When our children were younger they particularly loved the traditional seaside activities which Scarborough provides.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Barpub : old Scalby mills 2 minutes walk at 300 Metres Nearest Beach : north bay at 500 Metres

Special interest holidays:

Scarborough has a lot to offer throughout the year including, famous cricket festival, indoor and outdoor bowls centre, local shows though out the summer including large Pickering steam rally, also the newly refurbished outdoor theatre venue which has hosted big stars as JLS, Olly Murs, Dionne Warwick, Sea Life Centre is 5 mins away from the house. Two beaches and harbour always offer things to do as well as Peasholm Park, plus many other things.


North Bay beach is a 10 minute walk away. Sea views from both rear bedrooms. South Bay beach is 5 minute drive or a 40 minute walk away


York is 50miles away and makes a good day out, as does Whitby further up the coast

Further Details:

Bempton cliffs is a short drive away which offers good birdwatching. The Whitby to Filey leg of the Cleveland Way is also on the doorstep, for those who like a good coastal walk. Scarborough has many good seafood restaurants, as well as many other lovely tearooms and cafes. The town has all the shops and facilities anyone would want!

Change over day is Saturday but this can be flexible depending upon the demand and time of the year. Visitors are asked not to arrive before 3pm and required to vacate by 10am on the departure day to allow good time for cleaning.

  • Notes on accommodation: All visitors are encourage to rearrange the furniture if required to help with the comfort of their stay but please ensure that all is returned to the position it was found at the beginning of their holiday Outside: The rear garden has a patio with large picnic bench and parasol for alfresco meals, with plenty of room to barbecue. The centre lawn provides good play facility for the little ones. The bottom of the garden at the moment is out of bounds as it consists of a large pond. No children are allowed near the pond for obvious safety reasons. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen is included but visitors are required to bring their own towels. The house is cleaned and linen is changed on the change over days between bookings, extra linen is available should you wish to change midweek yourselves. Other: There is a garden room leading to the garden with full patio doors and small three piece suite.
