About Trisha Quinn

We came to Devon on holiday and we loved the area so much that we moved down here in 2006! Old Style Cottage is next door to our cottage, which is such an advantage as we can look after it personally and be on hand to help our guests get the most out of their holiday.

Trisha Quinn purchased this cottage in 2006

Why Trisha Quinn chose Jacobstowe

Jacobstowe is a beautiful, unspoilt area in the middle of Devon and we, and our guests, are constantly amazed at how quiet the roads are and how easy it is to get around. We are just 10 minutes from the wilds of Dartmoor, and 35 minutes from the gorgeous beaches on the coast. We get the best of both worlds!!

What makes this cottage unique

Our guests really enjoy staying in a 400-year-old thatched cottage while not compromising on modern conveniences and comforts. They comment on the thoughtfulness that we have put into the design of the cottage and appreciate us providing all the little everyday items such as dishwasher tablets, toilet rolls, cling film and so on, and that we send them a list in advance so they know what they don't need to bring!!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have so enjoyed our stay here. It has been a great pleasure meeting you and we will be back to sunny Devon again." (Mike and Anne, Aberdeen)

"We had a fantastic fortnight in Devon. The cottage is superb. The owners have thought of everything and could not have been more helpful. It has been an absolute pleasure staying here. Thank you." (John and Hillary, Lancaster)

"We have had an amazing time in the beautiful Old Style Cottage. You have made us so welcome. The cottage is gorgeous and your kindness, thoughtfulness and attention to detail and style have made our stay perfect. We have loved Devon. It has been a pleasure to meet you and we will be back. Warm and welcoming

  • 5 of 5

A lovely property in a great spot, easy for the Devon and North Cornwall coasts and some great walks on Dartmoor. The cottage is small but has everything a family of four could need for a stay, and Trisha is a welcoming and helpful host. Thanks for having us over Easter!!

We went over New Year with the kids and dogs and we had the most amazing couple of days. The cottage is just delightful and spotless and catered for our every need. We went to Dartmoor for a lovely walk. The cottage was so cosy and quiet and we would love to go back in the summer. Thank you Trisha for letting us stay in your incredible cottage and for all your help and advice.

Devon holiday 2017

  • 5 of 5

My family had a lovely stay in the cottage this summer. It had all the home comforts we needed after our days out exploring Devon. Trisha was a welcoming host, especially after our long journey and late, tired, arrival. We thought it was the perfect base if you want to see seasides of North and South Devon and of course all of the beautiful countryside.

This is a beautiful cottage in a delightful village. The hosts were very welcoming and present the cottage with great attention to detail. The cottage was impeccably clean and supplied with all that travelers need. Lovely little patio to enjoy meals outside. There is a pub a short drive away with superb food. Thank you for making the first stay in our trip to England so enjoyable!!
