Why Karla Sloggett chose Saint Minver Highlands

We love Cornwall, especially the North coast. After visiting different parts of Cornwall with our own family holidays we fell in love with this area and have returned for many years. We bought the cottage in January 2017 and are delighted we can share it with you.

It is situated close to fabulous beaches such as Polzeath, Rock and Daymer Bay which offers everything from surfing, sailing, coasteering, walking, dog friendly beaches etc. A few miles from the now famous Port Isaac, a ferry ride away to Padstow, a couple of miles to Wadebridge (which offers the camel trail and bike riding) and only a short drive to Newquay. There so much to do and see in this part of Cornwall we never tire of visiting and are sure you will love it too!

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage has been equipped to cater for our own family holidays which we share with you. It is one of 10 cottages and has communal lawned areas. For those of you with children who want to enjoy some outdoor play at the end of a day its a safe environment which is totally visible from your cottage, often children meet playing a game of football or cricket. Likewise you may wish to have an outdoor barbecue, the choice is yours. Its very quiet and tranquil being set well away from the main roads.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"Glen Valley Cottage is a really nice cottage, really comfortable and we have enjoyed our stay. Everything looks lovely and new and it was so clean. We liked the fact that it was not a fussy cottage but modern, simple and tastefully furnished "

"The Cottage has a 'home-from-home' feel about it. It was very comfortable and exceeded all our expectations, we would recommend it to anyone"

"You have a beautiful, well stocked, clean and beautifully furnished cottage in a beautiful location. We were looking forward to a really relaxing holiday and can't think of anything or anywhere that could have filled the bill better"

Lovely quiet cottage outside Rock

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in this quiet well kept cottage just outside Rock, very clean and and welcoming with all the equipment you would need for a holiday. Bed was comfortable and each room made up well, Most of our days were spent out visiting towns and attractions and then evenings in with a glass of wine. Only down side for us was the shower although hot not very powerful.

Comfortable and well equipped cottage in good location.

  • 4 of 5

Enjoyed the open plan design of cottage, heating system adequate for winter weather, beds comfortable and kitchen well equipped for eating in.

Location was good midway between coast for walks and Wadebridge for shopping.

Low light pollution outside cottage so enjoyed viewing the night sky.

Girls commented that plug socket locations in bedrooms didn't allow use of hair dryer close enough to mirror.

Great cottage, great surroundings near the sea !

  • 5 of 5

Overall the cottage was lovely, not big but exactly what we wanted. It is in a well appointed position and it was so quie, everything you needed was available to cook and look after yourself. The caretaker was on site so any questions she was readily accessible. The owner has taken great pride in the furnishings of the property and it was a pleasure to be in lovely surroundings. The cottage is in a great position if you are looking for activities including the beach only 2 miles away in each direction, local pub and eateries. If you want a quick lunch recommendation there is a ‘Malcolm Barnecutts’ bakery on Rock road, great for sandwiches, pastries and cakes.

Good quality for 3 star rental

  • 4 of 5

For the 2 of us staying it was well appointed and equipped.

Nice to have Wifi

Eccellent property welcome pack.

A small bottle of milk on arrival would have been good.

I wish I'd tsken my own knife, or a sharpener, to carve the turkey.
