Manorbier is close to Tenby, a popular holiday destination, recently featured on Penelope Keith's Hidden Villages. Tarr Farm Cottage is within the village conservation area, but nestled close to open fields, with a high vantage point to enjoy views of the beach and castle from the garden. Manorbier is a popular surfing beach and an ideal base for many activities. Manorbier castle is a spectacular feature of the village. Beautiful and romantic it featured in I capture the castle and the lion the witch and the wardrobe. The cottage sets the scene for a relaxing beach based holiday, with beautiful secluded bays close by, within walking distance for coast path walkers. The village setting offering benefits of village facilities (shop & PO, pub, cafe, restaurant) all in walking distance. Entered through the garden the cottage has a entrance porch with chairs to enjoy a quiet coffee, and starts the beach theme. The south facing double bedroom with adjoining bathroom and shower is space to relax. The kitchen is well equipped with gas cooker and hob, fridge/freezer etc. French doors lead into the dining area and sitting room. When extra beds are in place (bed/ settee) there is still seating.

About the Owner

Richard and Maggie discovered this cottage hidden away in the village. After major garden clearance they discovered The View. They plan to downsize to the cottage when their children leave home. As owners of the cottage, they live within walking distance, so are there if you need them but would prefer you to enjoy your holiday without interference- the cottage is yours to enjoy.

There's a reason it has 5 stars!!

  • 5 of 5

So comfortable. I felt I was at a friends house. The house is so clean, warm, updated and just downright cute. I am a 40 something lady and I came alone with my dog. I felt completely safe!! All the rooms are a GREAT size. The house has everything you might need. Utensils, bowls, cups, silverware and cookware. Even a basket of maps and literature of things to do. A book shelf of fun board games, misc misc. All those touches that really make a difference. A perfect little yard with an area to sit outside and gaze at the ocean view. The owner is a sweetheart, responsive and very accommodating. Rental was a snap, no problems. To sum it up: If you want a few days alone, come here! If you want a romantic weekend, come here! If you want to meet up with family or a few friends, come here!! It is truly perfect. The beach is less than 10 minutes and it is absolutely beautiful. The castle is 5 minutes. GO HERE!

First but not last visit

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Tarr Cottage last week. We were very pleased with all aspects of the holiday. It started well with the detailed directions that got us there with no problems, even with a woman reading the map! Then came the hamper, loaded with a variety of tea, coffee, chocolate, cookies, Welsh cakes and fruit. Not to mention the 4 pints of milk in the fridge. My partner made short work of all the goodies and left the bananas for me.The cottage was cosy, neat and tidy and located perfectly for our week of walking and visiting the beautiful beaches. I adored the lazy boys chairs and throws, which I made use of, on a daily basis, much to the amusement of my partner. Most importantly for our weary bodies, after a long day walking, the hot showers and comfortable bed. The location was great and we were able to visit from Saundersfoot all the way to St. Davids, without spending hours in the car. Manobier beach was a picturesque place to stay with amazing views from the garden. We loved it all. We will definitely be aiming to go back again.

Wales may have even won over Scotland.

Super Cottage

We have stayed at Tarr Cottage 4 times, and feels like Home. Maggie the owner

Always gives us a lovely welcome with fresh flowers from the garden

And a hamper full of useful gifts. It is well equipped and very comfortable. The cottage is located in a peaceful and secluded position and has views of the sea and village. The garden is very pretty with fields behind, our pet cat loves the garden also. Maggie is very kind and allows us to bring our cat, as most cottages only allow dogs.

I would recommend this cottage for a perfect holiday location near to Tenby, and all the coastline, looking forward to staying again soon.

Great location. Perfect accommodation. Tucked away in a quiet, elevated position overlooking the sea and space around to potter. Well placed to explore the outstanding coastline and other attractions, all within easy reach. We would recommend it highly and would love to make a return visit.

From the Owner

We love Pembrokeshire because of the beaches- the variety and splendour. Manorbier in particular has several beaches within walking distance. We also like the sea life - seals, porpoises, and the amazing sea birds - cormorants, gannets, fulmars and the puffins on the island - razorbills and guillemots. Fishing trips, For landlubbers there is plenty to do too, or not to do if you prefer!

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

Surfing, walking castles are all close by

The proximity to the beach can be seen on Google maps-Tarr Farm Cottage.

It should take 10 minutes- though coming back may be longer - as it is uphill!!

The cottage is on the periphery of the village which boasts a Castle, shop, pub and hotel with rooms.

From the Owner

The cottage is in its own private garden with your car parked conveniently- but you may chose not to use it as so many facilities are nearby in the village. The garden is positioned to make the most of any sunshine throughout the day. The train station is accessible but a good walk away.
