About the Owner

Richard and Maggie discovered this cottage hidden away in the village. After major garden clearance they discovered The View. They plan to downsize to the cottage when their children leave home. As owners of the cottage, they live within walking distance, so are there if you need them but would prefer you to enjoy your holiday without interference- the cottage is yours to enjoy.

Delightful.

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful spot, lovely helpful welcome and clean. It's a super hidden-away spot with lovely garden, yet only 5 minutes from the centre of Manorbier, and with view from the secret patio of castle and bay. And in summer weather the garden would be a delight. Lots of equipment and family games too.

Many thanks - we'll certainly recommend and hope to come again.

There's a reason it has 5 stars!!

  • 5 of 5

So comfortable. I felt I was at a friends house. The house is so clean, warm, updated and just downright cute. I am a 40 something lady and I came alone with my dog. I felt completely safe!! All the rooms are a GREAT size. The house has everything you might need. Utensils, bowls, cups, silverware and cookware. Even a basket of maps and literature of things to do. A book shelf of fun board games, misc misc. All those touches that really make a difference. A perfect little yard with an area to sit outside and gaze at the ocean view. The owner is a sweetheart, responsive and very accommodating. Rental was a snap, no problems. To sum it up: If you want a few days alone, come here! If you want a romantic weekend, come here! If you want to meet up with family or a few friends, come here!! It is truly perfect. The beach is less than 10 minutes and it is absolutely beautiful. The castle is 5 minutes. GO HERE!

First but not last visit

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Tarr Cottage last week. We were very pleased with all aspects of the holiday. It started well with the detailed directions that got us there with no problems, even with a woman reading the map! Then came the hamper, loaded with a variety of tea, coffee, chocolate, cookies, Welsh cakes and fruit. Not to mention the 4 pints of milk in the fridge. My partner made short work of all the goodies and left the bananas for me.The cottage was cosy, neat and tidy and located perfectly for our week of walking and visiting the beautiful beaches. I adored the lazy boys chairs and throws, which I made use of, on a daily basis, much to the amusement of my partner. Most importantly for our weary bodies, after a long day walking, the hot showers and comfortable bed. The location was great and we were able to visit from Saundersfoot all the way to St. Davids, without spending hours in the car. Manobier beach was a picturesque place to stay with amazing views from the garden. We loved it all. We will definitely be aiming to go back again.

Wales may have even won over Scotland.

Super Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at Tarr Cottage 4 times, and feels like Home. Maggie the owner

Always gives us a lovely welcome with fresh flowers from the garden

And a hamper full of useful gifts. It is well equipped and very comfortable. The cottage is located in a peaceful and secluded position and has views of the sea and village. The garden is very pretty with fields behind, our pet cat loves the garden also. Maggie is very kind and allows us to bring our cat, as most cottages only allow dogs.

I would recommend this cottage for a perfect holiday location near to Tenby, and all the coastline, looking forward to staying again soon.

Regards

Sue and Mike

Location

From the Owner

We love Pembrokeshire because of the beaches- the variety and splendour. Manorbier in particular has several beaches within walking distance. We also like the sea life - seals, porpoises, and the amazing sea birds - cormorants, gannets, fulmars and the puffins on the island - razorbills and guillemots. For those that like to explore the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and the sea/coast/ estuaries and villages it is ideally located. Fishing trips, For landlubbers there is plenty to do too, or not to do if you prefer!

Special interest holidays:

Surfing, walking castles are all close by

Coast/Beach: Pembrokeshire Coast National Park - area of natural beauty

The proximity to the beach can be seen on Google maps-Tarr Farm Cottage.

It should take 10 minutes- though coming back may be longer - as it is uphill!!

Distances:

The cottage is on the periphery of the village which boasts a Castle, shop, pub and hotel with rooms.

A cosy cottage with styling reminiscent of beach hut romance, tucked away on the edge of the popular beachside village resort of Manorbier and just a short walk to sandy beaches. A perfect base to retreat to and relax if you are looking to make the most of the fantastic Pembrokeshire beaches yet being a stone’s throw from all the village of Manorbier beaches. Set over one floor, there is one comfortable bedroom with a family bathroom. There is a compact kitchen, everything you need to prepare your picnic for a day out exploring the coastline. There is a lovely roomy sitting room with dining area that overlooks the secluded garden. A choice of comfy seating including Laura Ashley reclining chairs- perfect to enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee whatever the weather. Outside, you can sit in the garden including a raised area overlooking the village, castle and down to the beach and bay- a perfect retreat to for an evening meal after a busy day on the beach or walking the coast path. Manorbier is a delightful village with sandy and rock pools and other Secret Beaches of Wales within walking distance for those who like coast path walking. You may choose to park your car in the private cottage drive which is off the road and free your self from motoring during your stay. The fabulous Wales Coastal Path leads to fantastic walks to local beaches in both directions. If you wish to explore a little further afield you will be spoilt for choice. You are ideally placed to visit a fantastic selection of theme parks with Oakwood, Manor House Wildlife Park, Folly Farm and The Blue Lagoon all within a 20 minute drive. Manorbier is in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park so you have almost an unlimited choice of local beaches to choose from, why not take a trip to the famous National Trust area of Bosherston Lily Ponds and Barafundle Bay, 20 minutes drive away, or visit the pretty walled seaside town of Tenby, 15 minutes drive, steeped in history and a perfect venue to partake in some fabulous watersports and wildlife boat trips. The harbour seaside venue of Saundersfoot is just the other side of Tenby and also boasts watersports such as paddleboards fishing trips and crabbing areas. The area offers numerous outdoor activities such as dolphin and wildlife spotting boat trips, as well as the opportunity to visit one of the many islands dotting the South Wales Coast such as Caldey, There are also lovely places just inland on the Cleddau estuary such as the magnificent Carew Castle or the moorings at Lawrenny, or Upton Castle Gardens. Also National Trust Places like Colby Lodge Gardens. You can try the adrenaline sports of coasteering, more sedate river and sea fishing or perhaps fulfil a dream of riding a horse on the beach. For the surfers among you Manorbier is one of the best local beaches and if it is disappointing here then Freshwater West may oblige. Thsi beach is famous from Harry Potter and Robin Hood with Russell Crowe. Slightly further afield, within an hour’s drive, you can take a boat to the Isle of Skomer and in season get close up to the numerous Puffins or perhaps visit the tiny city of St Davids, with more of a small village feel with its magnificent cathedral and nearby St Justinan's lifeboat and trips to RSPB Ramsey.A perfect base to explore Pembrokeshire and enjoy a variety of days out or simply spend the week exploring the coastline. Ideal for a couple or family looking for a retreat at the end of the day, yet being close to a small village with a local shop and supplies.

Facilities

From the Owner

The cottage is in its own private garden with your car parked conveniently- but you may chose not to use your car while enjoying your holiday ( a rare treat for most) as so many facilities are nearby in the village. The garden is positioned to make the most of any sunshine throughout the day. The train station is accessible but a good walk away.
