Delivers what it says on the can - Fantastic

This is our 2nd visit to the Carraig cottage in Machrahanish, I can find no fault in the services the property provides, My wife and myself extended the holiday invite, to my parents ,my brother and his wife with their two teenage girls, nobody left this holiday without experiencing an extremely good feel factor, yes the wind blew, the sun came out, the rain tried but didn't damper, the wild life showed itself in a number of forms, but sometimes you need to look, all in all it was an exceptionally good time

A special place!

  • 5 of 5

Luxurious, well equipped and spotless. Stunning location right on the beach overlooking a seal colony towards Jura, Isla and Gigha. Rarely have we relaxed so quickly on holiday, a real home from home. Our children played daily on the beach and we walked to the local restaurants. Lots of interesting and helpful local information from the owner. The sunsets were superb and the stars at night were phenomenal. Can't wait to come back, if only I could live there...!

A perfect short break

  • 5 of 5

A very well appointed and comfortable cottage, in a stunning location. The views from the kitchen and bedrooms towards Gigha, Jura and Islay were superb in the sunshine. The children loved playing on the beach, whilst we could see them from the house. Interesting places to visit nearby. Thoroughly recommended for families and groups.

Fabulous luxurious seaside cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic short break in this lovely cottage. It was easy to find with lots of helpful information on things to do in the area provided by the owner. The cottage was immaculate when we arrived and is very cosy with electric heaters in each room (very necessary for a February holiday!). It is very well equipped with everything you might possibly need from dishwasher tablets right through to hot water bottles! We loved the amazing sea views and spent ages watching seals and birds, the sunsets and the moon rising from the kitchen window. We really enjoyed walking along Machrihanish beach, collecting cowrie shells, visiting the bird observatory, and had a lovely evening out in the Old Clubhouse pub (great food - especially the haggis nachos!). We also visited Campbeltown, the Mull of Kintyre lighthouse and Southend. The children really enjoyed the amazing playpark tucked away behind the houses too. I would definitely recommend this cottage and hope to come back someday. Thank you.

Great Summer Holiday

  • 5 of 5

As you will see from the photographs the view from Carraig over the shoreline and beyond is spectacular and draws us back time and time again. The abundant wildlife and changing scene makes it a very special place. My children loved the stepping out onto the beach which is just outside. The facilities are excellent and access to the golf course and neighbouring hotel and bar restaurant are just a short stroll away. If your looking for a family holiday or a place to chill then this is the place for you.

Amazing location on beach

  • 5 of 5

Great place to stay with the family. Superb location right on the beach with amazing sunsets to watch from the kitchen! Property was very well maintained with excellent facilities and space for the children. Fantastic to watch the seals from the property which the children especially enjoyed. Would highly recommend to others and we hope to return soon.
