The Hayloft holiday accommodation nestles below the craggy, wooded slopes of Craigmore and the famous River Forth. It is a short walk to the lovely village of Aberfoyle, located in Central Scotland at the heart of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. To see the best of the unspoiled, natural beauty of the Trossachs, you should park the car, get out and walk, cycle or canoe. There are miles of walking and cycling routes through the forest right on the doorstep and many golf courses nearby. The Scottish Wool Centre, Go Ape and the David Marshall Visitor Centre are all within walking distance from the Hayloft. Learn about the history of the area and discover "Rob Roy" country. The bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, and the cities of Stirling, Perth, Glasgow and Edinburgh are less than 90 minutes drive. Relax! Enjoy the peace and tranquillity at any time of year, spring, summer, autumn or winter. Each season has its own unique appeal.

I am artist. My husband Neil makes television programmes. We moved to Aberfoyle because we loved the area and were always visiting at weekends. When the perfect house came up in the perfect location we couldn't resist! We love living here and hope you will enjoy your visit too. Many of our guests come back every year.

Why Dorothy Parker chose Scotland

The house is ideally situated. We are in the heart of the Trossachs, one of Scotland's most beautiful areas. You can walk out the door to a loch, be up a hill or in the village in minutes. Just a short drive will take you to the most varied scenery.

Every season is lovely and the wildlife is endlessly fascinating. We have deer in the woods above the house and ospreys nesting on Loch Ard.

it's also really easy to reach Glasgow, Stirling or Edinburgh.

Outside: French doors open onto a patio with garden table and chairs, and secluded garden with an ancient woodland beyond. This woodland is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and is home to a rich variety of animals and plants. Guests have been excited to see red squirrel, pine martin and deer, and birds such as woodpeckers, jays, many varieties of tits, including long tailed tits, and finches, robins and wrens are regular visitors to the feeders and the garden. Buzzards and peregrine may be seen overhead. We have wifi Utility Room: Washing machine and dryer Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen included. Property thoroughly cleaned

Quaint & quirky, ideal for a short break, my dog & I loved the house, garden & surrounding area

My stay at the Hayloft was cosy & very accommodating, it had everything I needed & even a washer & dryer that I didn't expect, ideal for the day I slipped in the snow & mud & landed on my bottom ending up all full of mud!!!

Amazing walks & views in the local vicinity & good local shops, fully recommend the Hayloft *****

ideal location for Trossachs

An excellent cottage in an excellent location, It is very quiet and tranquil with plenty of bird life and very entertaining Red Squirrels. This cottage is perfect for touring the Trossachs. Cottage is well maintained and well equipped. The owners are very friendly and quick to respond to any requests. We enjoyed walks in the very nearby forest and steamboat rides on Loch Katrine. Nearby Aberfoyle has enough shops and Cafes to keep your supplies topped up and the Butcher provides excellent quality meats. We would recommend this cottage to anyone who wants peace and quiet.

A beautiful cosy haunt.

We received a lovely welcome. The accommodation is comfortable and the facilities good. Property was clean and well maintained. Just one problem - keeping midges out whilst ventilating the property on warm days. We had a wonderful day on and around Loch Katrine and lovely views from the top of Ben A'an. Dining at The Byre was excellent but don't forget to book!

Fantastic place to stay

Fantastic well equiped cosy cottage, garden is amazing with direct access to the hill walks behind. Lovely idyllic place to spend a week or two with lots to do nearby. A trip out onto Loch Ard is a must. Offers wonderful peace and quiet to simply relax and watch the wildlife, which there is plenty of. We look forward to returning again one day.

Convenient location for day trips in any direction

Nice property. Warm gracious hosts. Convenient to any number of destinations within a hour's drive and a car is a must. Would recommend this property for no more than two adults due to the small room sizes.
