About Tim Byrne

Hi, we are Tim and Pauline. We have recently gone freelance after careers in the restaurant trade and Further Education (Teaching English). We now spend our time between the Lake District and Spain where we love walking in the mountains.

Tim Byrne purchased this cottage in 2012

Why Tim Byrne chose Penrith, East Lakes & Eden Valley

We have been coming to the North Lakes for over 20 years and it is our favourite retreat from the bustle of city life. We love walking and even on bank holiday weekends we can be alone in the hills behind Blencathra. We also love the local pubs.

A lovely well presented cottage

  • 5 of 5

An old style stone cottage completely refurbished very tastefully to a high standard. The accommodation is equipped with all necessities and more. We appreciated the good selection of movies, games and literature left for the use of the guests.

The location is just perfect to enjoy the Cumbrian countryside and the Lake district. The place is in the immediate proximity of Penrith, a lovely town with lots of shops and amenities. A very good food pub is within 10 min walk and we highly recommend it. They also sell a few necessities, fresh milk and eggs.

There are some beautiful views in the area and it's very easy to reach more well-known tourist locations such as Keswick and Windermere. We would definitely recommend booking this cottage for your holidays.

Amazing place. Loved it.

Beautiful little cottage. It was small, cosy and clean. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Shower not very powerful at all and the temperature was a bit hard to get right but it wasn't really an issue with everything else being so nice. I would still go back. Location was great too.
