House in Plaidy, Nr. Looe, Cornwall, England - Quiet Location With Access To The Private Beach From The Garden

Seaside House is a beautifully modernised light and airy 1920's upside down house featuring stripped floors, open fireplace and spacious sun lounge in the living area. It's been in the family since the early 1980s and has been carefully renovated most recently with a high spec kitchen and bathroom, redecorated and new carpets and flooring throughout. The property has 5 bedrooms sleeping 9 with a vanity unit in each bedroom (apart from the single) and a separate cloakroom upstairs.

About Jo Creed

The Creed family have owned Seaside House since the early 80's with ownership passing to Matthew from his father. We've been renovating and improving since the early 90's and it is a much loved second home, renamed to Seaside House by our children when they were small. We run our own building supplies company in Gloucestershire, and Jo works part time as a trainer in Financial Services in Cheltenham. We have two children aged 18 & 16, a labrador & 4 chickens.

Seaside House is warm and cosy when it's raining, light and airy when the sun is shining. You'll find everything you need within the house and as it's right on the coast path you can walk in either direction with Looe only 1 mile away, a characterful working fishing town full of bars and restuarants and shopping opportunities. Polperro isn't far either, and there are so many places to explore in the surrounding area.

Outside: The property benefits from a beautiful split level decked area with a barbecue and outside table and seating for 10. Steps from the deck to a small lawn area with a path and approx 12 steps down to the beach. Utility Room: Washing machine, dryer, vacuum cleaner, iron & board Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels are included in the price and the property is thoroughly cleaned on handover. Please bring your own beach towels.

Family holiday.

We had simply the most perfect week in the February half term. The house was beautiful and the sound of the sea, just heavenly. To spend quality time in such a wonderful place with grandchildren, parents and children was priceless. The weather was unseasonably warm and we made the most of it. Thank you!!!

Location, location

Lovely accommodation in beautiful surroundings

We had a lovely time at Seaside House celebrating an upcoming 50th birthday. The house was perfect overlooking the beach. It was clean and spacious and had everything we needed for our stay with ample parking. There was something for everyone, swimming, coastal walks or trips to local towns for a wander round. In the evenings we all gathered at the table for tea and then either played games or watched a bit of tv. We would certainly recommend a visit and hope to return one day.

Wonderful family week

The house was wonderful. What a fantastic position almost right on the beach. The children loved that sometimes they could go rockpooling, sometimes paddling and jumping the waves, and sometimes just standing and watching the waves crashing against the foreshore, all depending on the state of the tide.

There are two ways to get the final mile or so to the house, one down Plaidy lane which is very steep and a tiny road, and one down Hay Lane which was more drivable.

The house had everything we could want. A very well equipped kitchen, lovely bedrooms, 3 of which had a sea view, and a fantastic bathroom with rain shower and the biggest bath I have ever seem which the children loved.

The only thing that I would have wanted was a hairdryer as we had 3 grandchildren with long hair!

We organised a Tescos delivery which worked very well. Besides that we shopped at the local Spar or further afield at Morrisons or Asdas.

We tried the local chippy, Coddyshack, which was lovely. It gets very busy though.

Fantastic property with all mod-cons and an amazing view!

My family of 9 people very much enjoyed our stay at Seaside House. The property was very well equipped and the view from most of the bedrooms and the Conservatory couldn't be better.

There was lots of information available on where to go around Looe and a lovely costal walk to from Plaidy Beach to Looe with great views. The kids (and I!) loved the rock pools on Plaidy Beach and the Crabbing in Looe.

The parking was plenty and the house easy to find, be aware there are some quite steep hills around though. Not that walkable for the very elderly.

The only slight negative was that the WIFI was broken but this was not the owners fault and she went to great lengths to get it restored for us. It did not spoil our holiday however as we had lots of days out.

The Eden Project was quite close and a good day out although extremely busy during the holidays.

There are many boating trips available for hire in Looe and we took advantage of the one of the Glass Bottomed boats. This gave us a lovely trip around Looe Island where we spotted Seals amongst the fish.

All in all it was a wonderful holiday which we all enjoyed and we would definitely return one day.

Perfect holiday destination to make the best memories

A fantastic house to spend a holiday making memories. To wake up to the crashing of waves and boats bobbing around every morning has been truly a wonderful privilege! The location is perfect. To be able to park up the car and leave it there for days on end and simply enjoy a refreshing walk to Looe along the coastal path has been so pleasurable. Then, to return to the house and relax in the sun lounge to read the papers and eat the cream scones bought has been just perfect. We had an extensive age range with us (14-86) and this house catered for us all. The older member of the family was more than happy to stay sitting and chilling on the decking, admiring the view, whilst the others enjoyed the coastal walk and running up and down the steps to the beach to play in the waves! A truly brilliant holiday was had by all. Thank you to the Creed family for sharing their beautiful, perfect and happy house with us! We can not wait to return in the future.

Plaidy Beach is just at the bottom of the garden, Looe beach is a 15 minute walk away and can be reached across the rocks at low tide.

Distances:

Looe - 15 min walk, Polperro along the coastal path - approx 6 miles or by road, Seaton approx 3 miles in the other direction along the South West coast path or via the beaches at low tide, Plymouth 45 mins, Eden Project 45 mins.

Further Details:

Local shops are a short drive or walk away. Looe has plenty of pubs, restaurants, shops and the major banks are all represented. Seafood and ice-creams are in abundance! Looe is still a busy fishing community consisting entirely of dayboats and various fishing trips from mackerel to shark are on offer during the summer months.
