Is the annex to the farmhouse, sleeps 2 & has a sofa bed in the bedroom. This cottage is large enough to comfortable accommodate 2 adults and 2 children with plenty of room for a travel cot as well if required. This conversion from an outhouse is very cosy and is arranged as follows - on the ground floor a fully equipped kitchen, separate living and dining areas and bathroom. The first floor bedroom is deceptively spacious and contains a large four-poster, 2 seater sofa bed as well as adequate room for the cot. This cottage also offers fridge/freezer, microwave, TV, cd player, radio/tape/cd player, and washing machine.
Allender Farm is situated at the end of a long attractive drive of half a mile and offers outstanding views of the Lee Valley and surrounding countryside. Set in delightful grounds of just over 3 acres, the property offers the seclusion of the country, for those wanting to get away from it all - yet is only 3 miles from the 'Blue Flag' beach at Woolacombe with its outstanding sandy expanse. The beach extends to some 3 miles and connects to Putsborough. We are also within easy reach of the beaches at Mortehoe, Croyde.
Jane & Jim Bridges moved to Devon with their family in 2001 to have a more relaxed way of life. Jim had worked in London for over 20 years and the time was right to make a move away from the hustle & bustle of the City. It was always our aim to run our own business & and give our children a country life style.
Jim & Jane Bridges purchased this cottage in 2001
North Devon is a fantastic place to live with unrivaled costal beauty. We love walking and the area offers some of the best beaches in the country.
Our cottages are converted from old barns to a high standard to provide comfort during your stay. We offer a very quiet location but are also only a short drive from the beach at Woolacombe and walking distance to Lee Village across adjacent fields. During your stay we offer the chance to feed our orphan lambs, pigs and other small animals
We wanted a place to stay to enable us to go on nice walks with the dog - this was perfect - the cottage was clean and very warm which after a day walking was ideal. Both Jim & Jane were on hand should we need them - they had very good knowledge of the area and pointed us in the right direction for walking - will definitely be going back. The dog loved it too although couldn't quite make out the chickens (hadn't seen any before)
Lovely peaceful surroundings. The cottage was cosy and well equiped.
Very nice cottages. Jim and Jane were more than accommodating and on arrival we were greeted with home baked cake and the farms dogs.
Cottages have everything you need and are very cosy and warm. We felt at home and we needed this little break. Dog friendly and provide all the bedding and even made sure we had the tea making essentials on arrival. Jim and Jane are a lovely couple and we are looking forward to staying there again as the price was very good.
We found a local supermarket 3 miles away and didn't need for anything. Plenty of parking space and you can help yourself to the bottles of wine as long as you replace them. Eggs and home grown sausages are also available.
Excellent alarm call each morning from the cockerel and the soothing sounds from the sheep and other farm animals.
So lets hope there is room for us the next time we need a break.

We booked this at the last minute (4th August) for 1 week.
Jane & Jim are the most wonderful hosts. Homemade cake greeted us on arrival. With essential provisions like milk, coffee, sugar that we hadn't asked for. But these little things made a massive difference.
We were greeted by Jim, who said we were welcome to feed the animals for 7pm. Well, our two girls were gone!!! They are 13 and 9.
Primrose was clean, well maintained. Very cosy and comfy.
They have sheep, chickens, geese, ducks and 3 delightful dogs. Its all very hands on. Our girls were out feeding with the other children that were staying in the other cottages, every 8am & 7pm. God forbid if we didn't get back in time for the feeding!!
Its a wonderful base. You're free to roam around the farm. See the animals. Be as lazy or busy as you like. We visited loads of places every day around the area.
We even had their sausages on most days and eggs. Which were absolutely lovely. Jane & Jim couldn't do enough for us. Their knowledge of the area and the best quiet beaches to visit was brilliant.
Being a farm, don't forget your wellies! Just in case you get a wet day feeding!
It really was our Darling Buds of May holiday. Our girls forgot all about their electronic equipment for the week. They only came back to the cottage when they got hungry and had lovely rosey cheeks!
We're definitely going back. Thank you Jane & Jim. Keep doing what you do :-)
