Santiago De La Ribera, Nr. San Javier, Costa Calida, Spain - Peacefull Location,15 Minute Walk To Beach And Town Centre, Which Offers A Variety Of Restaurants.

A modern three bedroom townhouse, fully equipped to a high standard and can be found peacefully set among the San Blas pine forest and avenue of palm trees. The outside sitting area boasts an ornate BBQ with an array of colourful flowers. Relax in the private roof top solarium which is furnished with two comfy sun lounges. A communal pool, a large children's play area & in short distance of several golf clubs. The townhouse is only a few minutes walk to 3 supermarkets and a 5 minute walk to the weekly Wednesday market which offers a wide variety of food, drink, clothes, etc. Located approx 15 minutes walk to Santiago centre a typically Spanish town, where you will find family friendly bars and restaurants. The town centre provides free entertainment near the beach in the height of summer at weekends. If you prefer a night in, whilst cooking on the BBQ you can relax whilst watching the English satellite TV or DVD with a selection of DVD or perhaps play a family board game.

Walking holiday

Found the house here on Owners Direct. Very well equipped house for the self caterer! Washing machine, 3 bathrooms , one with a bath and bidet. Very clean, homely and well presented! Nice swimming pool, sadly found the sunbeds under lock and key. There are some light weight folding chairs , but I do love a sunbed around the pool ,so my fab husband took the walk to the larger supermarket, around 15 minutes walk , and paid 21 euros 50 cents for one for me to use, which was lovely , but I had to leave it at the property. Also you have to use the key provided to get into the pool area. Good idea you'd think to stop gangs of kids coming in? Nope , one of them jumps over the wall and lets the others in, so our peaceful afternoon was shattered by a group of 6 or so youths who then took over the fairly small pool, by playing a very rowdy game of volley ball! ( English, who'd have been more suited to an 18-30 holiday?) To be fair this was a one off, but don't know how it would be in busy august. The walk to the beach took us 16 minutes at the quickest. We did have very hot weather after a couple of days, so most nights just sat in watching tv. as we could n't face the walk to get a sea view meal. There is a Lidl and Aldi not too far away, so you won't starve, as long as you don't mind cooking? There is a large screen flat tv, with all the channels, and comfy sofas , so that's fine. We also used the bbq one evening, very nice ! We went over on the ferry to La Manga. 4 euros each way, that was a lovely day out! But we went the wrong way , and there was only one restaurant! Trust us! Go right and you won't miss out on all the shops and retaurants. There is loads of choice the other way ! The beaches are lovely , with shallow waters ,ideal for small children. Very safe!The water is very warm , as it is a lagoon rather than the sea. If you cross the road in La Manga you can swim in the med. We would n't return to this house , as it was way too far for us to walk to amenities, but if you don't mind driving or lots of walking in the hot sun, then a hire car would be a good option? We used the pickup service from the airport. We were given his mobile number and had to call him while we were waiting for our luggage. It took us a while to find him, as he waited for us outside the airport rather than coming in with a card with our name on.He charged 12 euros. We had a taxi from Los Alcazaraz one day , and that was in an air-conditioned Merc, and cost 10euros 85cents?

Activity and Interests


15 minutes walk to the beach, 5 minute drive. Beach front includes tapas bars, restaurants, pizzerias, season fairs and events, climbing frame for kids and a couple of English bars! New for 2013, a beach front restaurant with staggering sea views.


Murcia airport which is a 10/15 minute drive away, has plenty of car hire companies such as Hertz. Car hire is recommended for exploring the surrounding areas of Costa Calida and Murcia, although not essential for a local relaxing holiday. Local taxis are available. Benidorm is approx one & half hours drive. Alicante/airport is approx 55 minutes away.


Nearest town centre is Santiago de la Ribera at 15 minutes walk, 10 minutes drive to Los Alcathares with its many eating establishments.

The bus stop is a couple of minutes walk to many destinations, including a regular bus to the Torrevieja water park in summer.

Dos Mares is a 5 minute drive where lots of restaurants, fast foods and a bowling lane can be found.

A few local supermarkets in a few minutes walk e.g. Aldi. Wednesday market 5 minutes walk.

Further Details:

There is a local ferry across to La Manga runs throughout the summer season. An English speaking Tourist Information office is in the town centre, offering information for local events and a little further afield in Torrevieja, Murcia, Catagena, Alicante and Benidorm.

For guest use with care are beach chairs, sun umbrella, cool bags, plastic cutlery & plates, plastic containers & cups for beach or picnic use.

Security box is provided. The house is fitted with smoke detectors.

Information required is;- number of guests- adult & children, nights required, dates, if taxi from airport required/cot/welcome pack. £100, non returnable deposit secures the house. We ask that all breakages to be replaced or paid for. Balance to be paid 8 weeks before departure when all relevant house information is provided.

Changeover Day:
Flexible change over days. House available from 4pm on day of arrival, to vacate by 11am on departure day, this is to allow for cleaning. Other times by arrangement.

Notes on prices:
Prices include clean and launder for up to six people, the house can sleep up to 9 people using the single Z bed and double bed settee (for 2 small adults) for an extra charge.
Air con, security box and use of the many home from home facilities are included in the price.
