Overview

About the property

Chalet in Dalavich, Nr. Oban, Strathclyde, Scotland

Set on a 2/3 acre plot in tranquil Dalavich Chalet Park, the property sleeps up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms, 2 bedrooms with double beds and 1 twin bedroom with bunkbed. Dining table with seating for 6 (+Cot & High chair if requested). Amenities: internet enabled smart & satellite TV's in two bedrooms + lounge DVD player, internet via wireless broadband, quality stereo & radio, barbecue, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher & fireplace. BBQ pit and firepit.

There is a soft golden sand beach about 40 metres along the shore , in the shallows it can be a nice warm swim in summer.. but don't go out too far ! it quickly becomes hypothermia cold !!

There is a pub, restaurant, shop and post office within 2 or 3 or minutes walk.

This chalet is a fantastic place if you want water and mountain views in a relaxing space , we always try to present you with the best possible , but it is not perfect , if you are a person that would obsessively focus on a few flecks of dust on an electrical socket (etc) and then send me multiple photos of it from various angles and then at 10pm demand something be done about it , please stay away and please please think again :)

Fantastic stay with the best views!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Bubble at the end of February for three nights and couldn't have asked for a better place!

The cabin is so cozy and has everything that you need so if you wanted to stay indoors, start a fire, cook a nice meal and spend time with the ones you love while looking at the backdrop of the stunning loch views, then this is the place.

Outside of the cabin is also amazing. We managed to explore the beautiful area with long walks along the beach and woods and met really great people in town at the shop and the social club.

Nicky was great, responsive to my emails before arriving and sent us an email our second day to make sure that we were enjoying our stay and to see if we needed anything.

We can't wait to go back to the Bubble. If I didn't live 3,500 miles away, I'd be there every month, or week!

Just what the doctor ordered

  • 5 of 5

The Bubble had everything we needed for a quiet getaway for two (and the dog). Warm and cosy against the weather. Well situated, superb scenery and although the weather conspired against us we managed to get a couple of walks in and still had time to relax with a glass of wine in front of the log fire. The locals were friendly and the local shop had all we needed if we ran out of anything. Take a good torch as you will need it. Overall a really enjoyable few days . John & Donna

Like a writers cabin you see on American films 😊😊

  • 5 of 5

I must say the bubble was exactly as described by other people and by Nicky himself. It is clean, very warm and cosy if you are looking for a tranquil peaceful place to stay this is the place,it is also good for visiting other places nearby having said that you could easily not have to go anywhere, there are lots of lovely walks around Dalavich. Another thing worth mentioning is that the local shop is very well stocked and the food there is lovely. The owner Nicky is a very nice helpful guy!!

Owner's Response: Yikes ! A good review , it had to happen sometime I guess ! We do our best , but please be aware that "clean" as adjectivised by the reviewer, is very much an individual thing, I include that notion for the benefit of the white glove wearers who come to the forest , whip out said white glove in the hope of being able if necessary to perform an emergency appendectomy in operating room conditions but instead find themsleves gasping for breath in clouds of dust as spiders chase them around the building. Which is most unfortunate. However It is a rare ill wind that does not blow someone some good , i now have 5 different sized gloves , (the spiders eat everything but the glove) so probability dictates that the next glove to turn up will be of a size to make a pair. YAY As the reviewer said , the place is clean and fun , it's simple really.

Comfortable, well-equipped chalet

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed our stay here. Chalet is as described in the listing and communication with the owner was excellent. Really nice park with lots of space and access to the lochside - I think it would be really good for families with children. If you intend using the wood stove suggest you take some logs with you as they are expensive to buy locally.

Perfect break in a homely chalet

  • 5 of 5

We had spent a lot of time looking for the perfect place to visit for my grandpa's 70th birthday. Once we decided upon the Bubble, Nicky was so easy and friendly to book with. Answered all my questions efficiently. Once we arrived at the chalet we were so happy. It had fabulous views, located well and internally was fabulous. It was just what we wanted and Nicky had made such an effort to leave a homely touch. I loved this about this property. Very few other holidays or log cabins I've too had that homely touch. I will be back again. Thanks again Nicky.

Magical Place

  • 5 of 5

Loved The Bubble! Very cosy, stunning views and in a lovely little village on the banks of Loch Awe. Found the village shop/cafe/bar stocked with all essentials and very friendly American lady working there. Even went to the village church for carol service, lovely. Our dogs had a wonderful time too! Lodge is equipped with everything you need, would definitely recommend to anyone. A haven away from this fast paced world we live in.

People in unfamiliar environments break and damage things like dinner plates and kitchen countertops, as such I urge guests to ask me for my accidental damage insurance costing £14 , this is a less hassle and much better option than asking for £hundreds in security deposits.
