Cottage in Orford, Nr. Wooodbridge, Suffolk, England - Within a short walk of the riverside and Town centre with shops including the World famous

The 17th century 2 bedroomed cottage is situate on the village green in orford with the quay a short distance to the south and the village and shops a short walk to the north. The historic castle and church are also close by. Orford is about 12 miles to the east of the a12 from woodbridge last stop before the river and the sea beyond! It is a very beautiful and popular village loved by walkers cyclists birdwatchers and sailors

I am the very proud owner of the 'Cottage on the Green'; in Orford Suffolk which is one of three terraced cottages dating back to the 17th Century..I live close by and have an old and friendly labrador dog. We have been in the Village for about 23 years so are familiar with the local 'scene' and happy to point you in the direction of the Restaurants, Pubs and Shops etc.

Why susan tristem chose Orford

The Village of Orford is one of the British beauty spots and one is extremely proud and lucky to have property here. The property is set back from the road with a wide expanse of village green to the front. There is a large private pretty garden to the rear.

What makes this cottage unique

The property is within a very short walking distance of the river with its lovely views and the moorings with many boats. It is also a short walk from the centre of the village with its assortment of excellent shops and eating houses. The Village store has won the 2012 Champion Award from from the Daily Telegraph in association with Countryside Alliance. The Pump Street Bakery has won the 2012 BBC Best Food Producer Award.We also have the famous Pinney's of Orford Fish Shop and Restaurant with its own smoke house. Richardsons is the other well known smokehouse There are many things of which to be proud of here including the 12th Century Castle and Church .

Notes on accommodation: The Cottage is suitable for 4/5 people No sleeping on sofas! There are two dining areas inside seating 4 in kitchen and 6 in the dining room. There are two dining areas in the garden seating 4 and 8 comfortably. There are two al fresco seating terraces for 8-12 people. Barbeque available. Utility Room: Cleaning equipment, wine rack. Cleaning / Towels / Linen: Including linen and towels which are changed weekly. Additional cleaning at Tenants expense.

Fabulous location for weekend break

Comfortable cottage, great location two restaurants, two pubs a tearoom and bakery all within a easy walking distance. Loads of places to walk and burn off all the good food!! Friendly and helpful owner. Overall a great weekend.

Great cottage

What a lovely cottage: bags of room, excellent character and a wonderfully kept garden too. Great for the kids. The cottage is about 45 seconds walk from an excellent pub, (food and beer), and about 3 minutes from the quay.

3 mins walk from river and 8 miles to the mouth of the river ore by boat. There are numerous beaches within a few miles of orford. Thorpeness being very popular.


50 miles from stanstead and norwich airports. Harwich is approx. One and a half hours away by car. A car is recommended here for travelling out if town although there is a minimal bus service.


12 miles from woodbridge and saxmundham and 22 miles from iswich

We Are Blessed With Very Good Shops - One Of Which The Pump Street Bakery Mentioned At The 2015 Oscars Ceremony - And Now Famous For Their Doughnuts! . The Pubs Are Excellent And The Crown And Castle Hotel Well Known For Its Owner Ruth Watson (the Ex. Hotel Inspector). There Is The Famous Pinney's Smoke House With Its Restaurant And Shop Renowned For Its Locally Smoked Salmon And Other Fish. There Is A Craft Shop Selling Lovely Assortment Of Baskets, Locally Produced Items And Ideal Gifts. A Delightful Riverside Cafe By The River Serves Breakfasts Luncheons And Teas. A Small Village Shop And Post Office Provides Essentials For The Holiday Maker. An Excellent Garage Also Selling Plants, Flowers And Many Other Items,
