About the Owner

We live in the Uxbridge area of Middlesex where we live within 5 miles of each other. My brother lives with his wife and son and has a daughter, 2 grandchildren and has just celebrated the birth of a great grandchild.

Myself and my partner have now retired and have 2 children and 2 grandchildren.

Why we chose rural France:

When we retired we all decided to make that move and buy that much desired French property as we all share a great love of rural France after spending many years of holidaying in this area.

The area provides peace and tranquility from the hustle and bustle of normal life in Middlesex, it has great local restaurants and long, hot, lazy summer days.

Guestbook comments from the owner

July 2013 - "A lovely house, the girls fought over who would have the balcony bedroom. Delightful location, we particularly enjoyed the bird song, the lizards and the butterflies. The lake and woods are great and St. Leonards is a great town." The Canns. August 2013 " One of the nicest houses we have ever rented! Thank you for a lovely holiday, the house is great as was the pool, we all had a really lovely stay." Many thanks for a lovely week The Williams. August 2013 An absolutely lovely home, thank you for sharing it with us. The peace, tranquility and warmth made it a very pleasurable stay. Stars at night, amazing! Tips on local shops, supermarkets or even local town worth visiting would be helpful. We visited Oradour (humbling visit).Labrinthe Geant and Lake Vassiviere for L'Abre tree experience and tennis courts." Thank you once again. Chris, Michelle, Samuel & Matthew (Nottingham).

Lovely area with friendly welcoming locals

  • 4 of 5

House had everything required for a two week stay. Kitchen facilities great for leisurely dinners on the decking. Teenage son happy with wifi. Pool lovely, bit chilly on overcast days but perfect for those scorching days we were lucky to have. Bread van visited 3 times a week, local people all very friendly. Local supermarkets Were perfect for topping up supplies. Local lake at St Helens was beautifully maintained. Lake vassiviere beautiful lake where we hired pedallos, canoes and motor boats. The high ropes centre also at the lake was amazing, better than anything in the uk.

Great communication from owners before and after holiday.

Perfect Holiday Villa

  • 5 of 5

Our sixth visit to France and was our best experience. House was lovely, with everything you need and a friendly welcome. Pool is a generous size and provided a welcome cooling dip on the hot Limousin days. The area has many advantages, lovely Towns to visit and two swimming lakes very close by. Lots of supermarkets to choose from. Thank you La Vedrenne for a fabulous holiday.

After many years of holidaying all over France, we chose this area for it's natural beauty and it's remoteness from the crowds. The local lake is a beauty spot where a short walk away you can relax in it's peaceful surroundings. Limoges is not too far away if you need a break from the peace, where there are many shops, restaurants and all the trappings of city life.

From the Owner

We enjoy a typical French rural life where the bread van comes 3 times a week with various French boulangerie delights. Balmy barbeque evenings after a hectic day of sunbathing and dipping into the pool.
