We spent Christmas 2015 in Brixham and chose to stay at 29 The View. And what a view it was. Simply stunning. The house catered for 10 of us and there was plenty of space to enjoy the festivities.

We didn't want for anything as the house had everything we needed. I think I over prepared as I didn't want to be without anything on Christmas Day, but I needn't have bothered.

Paul, the owner, was very helpful during our stay and in the lead up to our arrival, managing my endless questions! Extra towels were also provided on Christmas Eve as there were a couple short.

We thoroughly enjoyed Brixham. It is a very quaint town with delightful views and windy streets. We will definitely be returning.

Thank you for sharing your house with us Paul. We had a wonderful time.

Happy New Year.

Great house & overall experience. Highly recommend

  • 4 of 5

Eight of us stayed here over a weekend in June. The house is clean, well laid out and perfect for a group of friends looking for a chilled out weekend away. We were delighted to see that the patio offers a stunning view, just as in the pictures offered. It is just a 5 minute walk from the town.

The collection of keys and organisation was seamless with a professional & helpful attitude on behalf of Paul, the owner. In fact, when we realised we were a towel short, he arranged for cleaners to drop off towels within a matter of two hours or so. He was flexible with our check out time when I raised this as an issue and was reasonable in all aspects of our stay.

The house lived up to what we needed for that weekend and I would return here on our next trip to Devon. I would recommend it to a group looking for a clean, decent sized space for a fun weekend at the coast.

Superb view

  • 5 of 5

Arrived for a week with the in-laws and i must say it met all our needs and everybody's expectations.

The view from the patio is exceptional and you can sit for hours just looking at the harbour and the sun setting.

The kitchen. dining and living room was all geared up to the party and there was nothing we were short of. All 3 front facing double rooms had wonderful views over the harbour.

The 2 family bathrooms and the small toilet and sink for the upstairs double worked well.

i managed to get a parking spot outside and with the ferries to torquay, paignton and dartmouth i didn't need to move it all week.

Brixham was the nicest place of the lot and the walks both ways along the coast were lovely.

I would recommend this house to anybody who enjoys a good family house with suoerb views.

definitely 5 stars.

Further Details:

Any holidaymakers come to Brixham simply to relax and unwind with family and friends whilst taking in the scenery and atmosphere of this quaint and very traditional fishing town. Whilst fishing remains a major industry in Brixham (more so with the construction of the prospective fish market and restaurant promenade) there remains a vast number of other aspects to the town which brings people every year.

The quality upmarket cafeterias and bistros are fast becoming a focal point of this idyllic place to relax. From springtime to summer the ability to unwind in the one of the various fresh seafood harbour restaurants is a popular attraction, both for the atmosphere and the freshly daily caught sea food.

From spring to autumn there are regular daily ferries from the harbour to the surrounding towns and cities, which offer fantastic coastline vistas and a step off terra firma. If a ferry to Torquay and back for shopping doesn’t interest you then another such ferry runs south along the coastline to Dartmouth, which is a very beautiful and scenic river town. From here the ferry, bus or indeed steam train can take you back to Brixham.

Berry Head Nature Reserve which lies to the South West of Brixham is a great spot from which to view the South Devon Coastline and the South West Coastal Path can easily be joined in Brixham.

If you are interested in history then Brixham's seafaring link is emphasised by the presence of a replica of Sir Francis Drake's 16th - century ship, The Golden Hind.

Ideal for walkers with the Dart Valley, the famous South West Coast Path and John Musgrove trails right on the doorstep with breathtaking scenery of cost, forest and river. For those who love nostalgia, Agatha Christie's house Greenway, is just down the road whilst Coleton Fishacre former home of the Doyle Carte family is another world famous National Trust property just 10 minutes away.
