Apartment 2 Porthminster Terrace is on the ground floor of a recently converted Victorian house with a large dedicated parking space next to the apartment. It is a light, spacious apartment, tastefully furnished to a high standard. The living area is open plan with a conservatory opening onto a private terrace which has roof top side views to Godrevy lighthouse.

It has 1 double bedroom and a twin bedroom with comfortable beds, all bedding, bed linen and towels provided. There is an en-suite shower room with wc and wash basin and a separate bathroom with shower over, basin and wc. Both are fully tiled with heated towel rails. A well fitted and equipped kitchen leads to the open plan living area furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs. Outside there is a private terrace, with table and chairs large enough for dining, perfectly positioned for soaking up the afternoon and evening sun. There is plenty of space for bicycles, boats, surf boards and beach gear.

It is in a quiet location yet within easy access of the beaches, shops and restaurants of St. Ives only 5 minutes walk away.

Facilities include: free Wifi, large flat screen digital TV with free view channels, DVD player, iPod docking station, small flat screen digital TV, gas central heating / instant hot water, heated towel rails, duvets, bed linen and towels supplied, washer/dryer, electric fan oven, gas hob with extractor, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, double glazed throughout.

Lovely Quiet Apartment

I was very impressed with the overall quality of the apartment. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, the lounge homely, the conservatory room light and airy and the bathrooms spotless and modern. And the bathrooms deserve a mention in their own right - having 2 bathrooms for the 2 bedrooms was a real treat and made our lives so much easier. The apartment was secluded and quiet but still easily accessible to the main town area of St Ives. I really appreciated the parking space that accompanies the apartment (parking is a rare thing in St Ives!). We were there in Autumn and although the weather was changeable outside, the apartment was lovely and warm inside. In summary: this quiet, clean, homely yet modern apartment made our stay in St Ives convenient, easy and feel like a home away from home.

Lovely apartment. Very clean throughout. Light, airy. Tucked away & quiet but still only 5 mins walk from St.Ives town. We had a great time here & can thoroughly recommend it 👍👌🏼.

A hidden gem

Was very impressed with this property. Everything was catered for, it was very clean and I couldn't have asked for a better location. 5/10 minutes from anywhere and quite secluded with a side exeter acne to the building. My first visit to St. Ives and definitely won't be my last! This apartment has a definite home from home feel and I didn't want to leave! I would definitely recommend this property to family and friends (already have!) well done to the owners Kathie and Jon Butters

Fabulous weekend break

St Ives in winter

St Ives is perfect for a winter break and this flat is in the ideal location for walking into St Ives for shopping, eating and culture or to the coast for rambles. Even the golfers in the party were happy with several nearby golf courses to choose from. The large parking space makes life very easy and the flat has everything we needed if we wanted to cook for ourselves. Two bathrooms means there was no waiting. I would recommend it to all my friends and family for a great value break.

Excellent Holiday

Definitely returning. Accomodation had everything we needed. Parking a real bonus. Shops very convenient. Easy walking distance, down steps to beaches , town, shops and restaurants. Would recommend booking fish restaurant in advance. Appreciated outdoor storage for beach stuff and local info and maps really helpful. Lots more to do in the area, we will be back. Highly recommended.

Location

From the Owner

St Ives is a great place with lovely beaches, the historic harbour and fantastic restaurants. It is wonderful to wander around the old town exploring the little shops and watching artists at work. For the more active there is surfing on Porthmoer beach, golf courses and the coastal paths. It's also a good base for visiting many of the tourist sites of Cornwall. It has something for every age group at all times of the year.

Special interest holidays:

The wonderful location of St.Ives makes it ideal for surfing holidays. Both St. St.Ives and near by Gwithian have surf schools running courses through out the year. There are also opportunities for sea kayaking and kite surfing from the nearby beaches and on the estuaries along the coast.

St.Ives is also well renowned as an artists haven due to the special quality of the sunlight. There are several places in St.Ives that run art courses for all levels of artist.

St.Ives is ideal as a base for a walking holiday. The magnificent section of the South West coastal path from St.Ives south to Lands End is directly accessible from St.Ives. Or use it as a base for walking on other sections of the coastal path in Cornwall and inland on the moors.

In St.Ives:

Coast/Beach:

Beautiful Porthminster Beach, a sheltered beach ideal for young families, is 5 minutes walk from the apartment with its turquoise blue water and clean golden sand. Harbour Beach for boat rides and fishing is 5-10 minutes walk and Porthmoer Beach for surf, surf school, long stretches of sand and rock pools is 10 minutes walk.

Travel:

The apartment is easy to access by road and has a large private parking space next to the apartment building, although a car is not needed for in St. Ives itself.

The train station and bus station in St. Ives are both very close to the apartment, 5-10 minutes to walk up hill.

Newquay airport is about 1 hour drive away.

Further Details:

St Ives is a beautiful, vibrant Cornish holiday town. The beaches are amazing with golden sand and clear turquoise blue sea with white topped waves. The lovely harbour town has many quaint old cobbled streets and alley ways to explore with plenty of interest and intrigue. There are numerous art galleries including the famous Tate gallery and the Barbara Hepworth museum. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants in St.Ives to sample with really good fresh local food.

Further a field there is St. Michael's Mount, the Minnack Theatre and the Eden Project for day trips out or many nearby beaches and villages to visit.

The apartment is very convenient, close to the centre of St Ives (5 minutes walk to Porthminster beach, 5 mins to nearest supermarket and 10 minutes to the harbour and centre of town), yet in a quiet location with it's own large parking space allowing easy access. It has a conservatory open plan to the living room which creates a large, light living space. It has its own entrance opening directly to the outside with space to store beach gear, bikes, kayaks and surfboards. The 2 bathrooms are very convenient for when 4 people are staying. The outside patio area has roof top views to the sea and Godrevy Lighthouse and is a secluded place for a meal.

  • Notes on accommodation: Free Wifi Large parking space next to the apartment. Spacious 2 bedroom apartment in quiet location yet 5 minutes stroll to the shops, restaurants and beaches. Sun terrace with roof top side views to Godrevy Lighthouse. Gas central heating and instant hot water. Bedding, bed linen, towels and welcome pack included. Sorry but we cannot take pets. Outside: There is a private terrace with 4 chairs, a table and sun umbrella. There are roof top sea views looking down hill from the terrace to the sea and Godrevy Lighthouse. Ideal for al fresco dining, the terrace catches the sun through most of the day and the evening. There is a large storage box for beach toys, body boards etc., some beach equipment is available at the apartment. There is space for bikes, boards, kayaks etc. on the private path down the side of the apartment, (security would be the holiday makers responsibility). There is an outside tap and a line for rinsing and drying wetsuits. There is a large private parking space next to the apartment building, which can easily accommodate one large car or van. Utility Room: There isn't a separate utility room but there is a washer/dryer in the kitchen and a drying rack with space for this in the conservatory or out on the terrace Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bedding, bed linen and towels are included (beds are made up) and changed on a weekly basis. The property is cleaned on a weekly basis. Additional cleaning or linen changes are available on request. Other: The light and warm conservatory opens off the lounge and has a dining table, 4 padded dining chairs, 4 additional stacking chairs, that can be used as needed in the apartment, and a comfortable tub chair. It opens onto the apartment's private terrace.
