This family apartment is located in a private residence, just a few minutes from the famous Porto Rotondo, and only 20 minutes from Olbia Airport. This is a unique apartment on the Costa Smeralda, away from traffic and crowds and with all the facilities that allow for total relaxation. The apartment is surrounded by Mediterranean trees and plants, with a pool, private beach and tennis courts right on your doorstep. The spacious 80m² apartment is in excellent condition and tastefully decorated by the owners to combine English and Italian influences. It is fitted with all the modern appliances you could wish for and the large balcony provides the perfect setting to relax with a book or enjoy a meal as the sun sets. The famous beaches of the Costa Smeralda with their white sands and crystal clear waters are a short drive from the apartment. The complex is neighbouring 'Villa Certosa' the famous property of the Italian Prime Minister. A few minutes drive from shops, bars, restaurants.

About the Owner

Neil and Sarah Wood, the owners, fell in love with Sardinia over 10 years ago when holidaying on the Costa Smeralda and staying in an apartment in the same residence. They jumped at the opportunity to purchase an apartment and build their own bit of home in Sardinia. Neil, an engineer, has designed many of the units in the department, whilst Sarah, a designer, is responsible for the welcoming interior. They continue to enjoy the apartment with their family and friends, visiting regularly for some warmth and relaxation.

A perfect late-summer break

I was lucky enough to stay in this fantastic apartment in Porto Rotundo at the end of last summer. It's spacious, well equipped, airy and has a large balcony, plus it's only a short walk from the beautiful pool. Sardinia is a traditional Mediterranean island with gorgeous beaches, hidden coves, bustling villages and superb restaurants, all of which are within easy reach from the apartment complex (which is suitable for all ages, budgets and tastes). We have already booked another holiday in the same accommodation for 2015.

The beach is 100 metres from the apartment and is accessed through the pool and gardens.


The Airport Costa Smeralda, Olbia, is 18km from the apartment. EasyJet fly from London Gatwick, Luton and Bristol to Olbia. Jet2 fly from Leeds and Edinburgh to Olbia. There are several car rental companies at the airport.


Olbia is 12km, Porto Cervo 22km, Palau 32km (from where you can take a short ferry crossing to La Maddelena Archipelago).

Porto Rotondo is situated on a peninsular at the southern end of the Costa Smeralda. Porto Rotondo itself is cosy with shops and restaurants spread around the port area and in the streets which radiate back toward the main road which runs along each branch of the headlands. From higher points around Porto Rotondo the amazing white Isola di Tavolara is visible - a giant flat-topped island 16km away rising 600m out of the sea and dominating the view. The climate is typically Mediterranean. The flowers and trees within our apartment complex are typical to the area but they flourish with the automated watering system. There are expert local seamen available to give advice or to take visitors on trips sightseeing or fishing. Larger tour boats run daily trips around the La Maddelena Archipelago and cruise boats also anchor in the bays to enjoy the amazing scenery. Within this Archipelago is the beautiful island of Caprera, famous as the place to which Giuseppe Garibaldi retired in the 19th Century and littered with secluded coves and beaches.

Booking Notes:
To book please contact us via phone or e-mail. You will have to pay an initial deposit of 30% of the total cost of rental in order to secure the reservation. There is a standard cleaning charge of £80. Towels and bed linen can be hired locally. The remaining 70% must be paid 20 working days before the start of the rental period. The full rental fee must be paid before the final documents regarding the lease of the property can be forwarded to the guests. A breakage deposit of £500 is payable with final balance, returned when the apartment has been checked, within two weeks of return home.

  • Notes on accommodation: The swimming pool is fully open from mid June to mid September but it may be available a little earlier and may still be useable until the end of September but this cannot be guaranteed. Outside: The apartment is surrounded by beautiful gardens with a range of Mediterranean plants and trees. The pool and beach are accessed by walking through the gardens to the front of the complex. There is also outdoor lighting in the gardens at night. Private parking is available in the car park behind the apartment. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Final cleaning is added to the rental charge (£80 per rental). Sets of linen and towels can be provided. These are paid locally. Other: Large covered balcony with teak table and chairs that can accommodate 6 people. The balcony also has deckchairs and a sofa. The laundry area has a modern washing machine and a large sink for hand washing, there is an ironing board and iron.
