Julian, myself and 3 children live here at Farwood Barton, Julian was born here, and I moved here when we got married. Julian runs the dairy herd and helps out with the holiday cottages. I run the holiday cottages and do the farm accounts. We live here with 190 dairy cows, approx 40 calves most of the year, with some sheep during the winter, 2 cats Spoldge and Trixey, a working dog called Rex who love catching the ball with the visitors!
Farwood Barton is a working dairy farm, the farm has been in the family for 3 generations, the original farm buildings in the Victorian Court Yard had got out of date for modern farming practices, they were crying out to be converted in to holiday lets. We converted them in 2009, we now enjoy having visitors staying with us and sharing our beautiful location.
We as a family love living here in the countryside, we enjoy everything the countryside has to offer us, our livelihood, the quietness, our own space, the views, we still enjoy waking up every morning looking out to the wonderful view over the Coly Valley and beyond, summer or winter.
Farwood Barton gives you high quality, modern, accommodation, hidden from the hustle and bustle of life, whilst being close to the Jurassic Coast beaches and road links into the South West:- A30, A303, A35, A3035 and M5.
We want everyone to have a truly relaxing stay, and to leave feeling refreshed after a memorable time here at Farwood Barton.

The details provided about Leat House are accurate but don't seem to do it justice. Upon walking in, I was blown away. It felt more spacious than the photos suggested. It has a lovely cosy feeling about it despite being spacious. It was warm and had great light coming in.
The quality of everything within the barn can not be questioned, from the items in the kitchen to the bed and bedding. It really was a home from home.
There was a bench outside the barn looking out over the fields and hills. Sitting there in the morning with a cup of tea was very relaxing. Whilst sitting there, you can enjoy nature almost at your fingertips as the cows walk past to either the field or the milking parlour. You may then be introduced to the two farm dogs or cats who regularly come round to say hello.
I have no reservations about recommending this barn.
This is the second time that me, my partner, his mum and our 2 dogs have stayed at Leat House. The facilities are excellent and it's really useful having 2 en-suite bathrooms. The barn has everything you need and is very clean and Julian and Judith are very hospitable. We would definitely recommend this apartment!
Myself,my husband and our 2 cava tzu pups stopped at the leat for 1 week. The cottage is modern, very clean & had everything we needed for our stay. There's a cooker,microwave,dishwasher,washer/dryer,fridge,toaster,iron,all cooking utensils, crockery, glasses etc. tv,which has free view, free wi-fi,games,books. On our arrival,we were greeted with some freshly baked scones, jam & clotted cream. The family who own the working farm are very friendly & welcoming, & so are there 2 dogs, which our 2 pups adored. It's an idyllic holiday for relaxation & peace & quiet. I would give this property 10/10.
