Treago Mill & Lismore House offer the most spectacular views over the picturesque seaside village of Crantock, its beach and its surrounding coastline. The Properties have no visible neighbours other than cows, rabbits and horses and are located in a large gardens.

Seashells at Lismore House sleeps 4/5, with one ensuite room with kingsize bed and a second ensuite room with a triple sleeper (single above a double) bunkbed. There is a kitchen/dining/living room with stunning coastal views. A smart TV/DVD/blu-ray player, 160mb fibre optic internet access to the property and washing machine are included. Well mannered dogs are welcome. The apartment is centrally heated and a parking space is provided. There is a very large garden with areas designed for relaxation (deck with sun-loungers, BBQ and secluded outdoor spa) and areas for fun (pirate ship, ground level trampoline and games room). Crantock village is a couple of minutes walk and the beach a 10 minute walk.

My family have lived in Crantock village for generations and over the years we have acquired the properties we felt to be the most special in the village. We have been welcoming guests to our self-catering properties and campsite for over 40 years and many have not missed a year in all that time.

"My son getting married in Cornwall! 350 miles away so need accommodation for the weekend. 2 dogs. Need to book early. Need to find a place not too far away from the venue! Flat spin doesn't even come close to the panic I was in.

So this owners direct website looks interesting. And one property jumped out. I was looking at a picture of a hot tub in a garden with a couple drinking wine and watching the sunset. It was dog friendly, a short walk from the beach, also dog friendly, and not too far from Newquay itself. " 'er indoors" approved. Game on.

It looked so good we decided to lengthen the stay and have a holiday (we may need the rest after the wedding, and the happy couple might need a hand before same.)

And so we came to "Seashells" for a 10 day stay. Ideal for a couple of retirees (us) plus the possibility of grandchildren or Younger son and his partner to stay. Also ideal for a family with children.

TWO bedrooms and TWO bathrooms makes for flexibility with family bed allocation!

We loved it. So did the dogs. Happy in the garden and lots of walks nearby. Plus the beach (with car park if needed.) The grand children visited and were impressed with the pirate ship and trampoline, which is set into the lawn at ground level, a stroke of genius on the part of Paddy the owner.

The accommodation is well laid out and had every thing we needed for self catering, altho' we would have been pushed for entertaining with only 2 wine glasses! We didn't use the BBQ area in the garden either (but next time will be different).

Best thing, at the end of the day we sat on the sofa together and watched the sun go down over the sea! Both wine glasses fully utilised of course! Dogs at heel....bliss.

We had cream teas in Padstow, crab sandwiches in Polzeath and drank cyder in the pub at Mawgan Porth. And the wedding.......perfick, just perfick.

Same place next year, maybe to count the grandchildren!"

8 miles from Newquay airport. 10 miles from Truro train station.


Newquay is a 4 mile drive away or at low tide a 1.5 mile walk. At high tide

there is a ferry from Crantock Beach. Local buses run frequently from

Crantock to Newquay & Truro.

Further Details:

The village has 3 pubs, a restaurant, an impressive church, a tea room, art

galleries, and a Post Office shop. The entire coast is National Trust owned

and of exceptional beauty. Crantock Beach was recently recognized as Britain's best beach by BBC Coast 2013.
