About the Owner

South Lodge has been our Scotland base for the past eight years, but David's job has taken us to India, 2 years, Malaysia, 3 years and Egypt for 3 years. He now works in the Netherlands and commutes home every week while Ross, our son of 18 and I live in Scotland. We have recently moved to a house in Maidens, 2 miles away, and have been doing up an old house there.

Brilliant views and the property is even nicer in reality

  • 5 of 5

It is nicely laid out and well furnished. In reality it looks far nicer than the pictures online. The sea views from the property are beautiful. It is just a few minutes walk away to the beach and Trump Turnberry is nearby.

Heather was wonderful and very helpful at all times. The house has a great mix of modern and quirky features and was great fun to stay in for our whole family.

We would certainly recommend staying here!

Unbelievable position ; simply superb

  • 5 of 5

South Lodge was amazing for a number of reasons;

Heather was perfect in all communications regarding the property.

The location is superb 2 min drive from Kirksowald, Turnberry Resort a 5 min walk.

The house itself is exceptional with views to Islay and taking in Turnberry Golf Course and the surrounds.

The living areas and standard of finishing touches in the house made it a home for our week long stay.

We had a beautiful summer stay with the most perfect of weather.

Heather, your house was and is perfect.

Thank you so much.

Amazing property in an amazing location. We were all genuinely blown away by this house. Everything about it just got better. The location is perfect for touring the area, just off a main road, but completely secluded and with no traffic noise. The views over Turnberry and out to Ailsa Craig were simply breathtaking, and you'd quite often catch someone in our party just staring out the window. Walking distance of Turnberry Clubhouse and hotel, and of course the beach.

The house's interior was great, with all the fixtures and fittings of a first class finish. We really couldn't have asked for more, and all vowed to come back for longer next time.

From the Owner

The living space is open plan and there is a lot of it. The conservatory is a great place to sit if the sun is shining even in winter, the sitting room is very large with a large picture window to the front and side - everywhere you are you can see the sea and outdoors - and there is a separate dining area if you want a more formal meal, although the conservatory also has a large table.
