About the Owner

Hi there, we are Cally and Rob Worden. In 2004 we left our hectic lives in the UK to pursue our dream of creating quality Limousin holiday accommodation for people who love the outdoors. We have not looked back since, and our family now includes our two little children Ella (8) and Joe (5), and our friendly Labrador Asha. Come and visit this beautiful area for your holidays and find out for yourselves why we love it so much!

This is such a peaceful place to stay, our second visit was as relaxing as the first, and it won't be our last! Can't wait to come again! - Helen and Adrian, Luton, England

The ambience in the cottage is superb, you have got the "feng shui" just right, such a welcoming and relaxing place. Thanks for a wonderful visit! - Tom and Tatiana, England

The kids loved it, so much freedom for them in a safe environment (and feeding the baby lambs was the icing on the cake, they've not stopped talking about it!). Great family holiday, thanks! - Peter and Katrina, Hertfordshire, England

Couldn't leave without saying a huge thank you for a lovely holiday, the cottage was everything your website promised and so much more! We will take some precious memories with us - lovely walks, plenty to do (when we could drag ourselves away from the sunbathing!), and a perfect retreat from life back home! Keep our week free for next year won't you! - Cathy and Sue, Cumbria, England

Family holiday

Our first holiday in France could not have been better. The location was perfect, with plenty to do and see in this beautiful area of the country. The accommodation was superb: clean, well equipped and just what we had hoped for. Cally, Rob and their family were great and very helpful with directing us to some beautiful lakes in the area. If we visited the area in the future we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

One of our top three properties

  • 5 of 5

A very well kept and equipped property as described. Dealing with Callie and Rob Worden was easy from the moment we enquired, very helpful and friendly but equally respecting of our privacy.

We have stayed in various properties over the last 21 years and this is very much one of our top three and we would recommend it without any hesitation. We went for peace and quiet and to chill out and this is what we got so we cannot comment on any activities or attractions.

We would also highly recommend it if you are looking for a peaceful holiday in a rural idyll.

From the Owner

We discovered the Limousin region by chance, having stopped off en-route further south. The lush green countryside, rolling landscape and fresh clear air took us quite by surprise. We explored further, and we fell in love. This region is known variously as the Lake District of France, and the Green Heart of France, names which are well-deserved. Lakes and rivers abound, and we can often walk for hours along woodland tracks and on high open ridges without seeing a soul. It is a wonderful, peaceful, unspoilt area, and we love it for that. A huge bonus of this area is its accessibility to the UK - at only 7 hours drive from the northern ferry ports, and less than an hour from international airports at Limoges and Brive, you can be in paradise here within a day. Perfect!

Activity and Interests

The beaches beyond Bordeaux, on the Atlantic coast of France, can be reached within a 3 hour drive.

Use of a car here is essential.

We are a very manageable 7 hours (max!) drive from all of the main northern ferry ports.

Limoges is our local airport, just 60 mins away, and enjoys excellent direct flights from airports across the UK, the main airlines being Ryanair and Flybe. Flights can be very cheap, especially if booked well in advance, or at non-peak travel times. A second airport at Brive-Souillac is also only 60 mins away and is served daily by London-City Airport.

Food, and the social nature of eating, are vital parts of Limousin tradition. Your nearest restaurant to the cottage is just 5 minutes away in Le Lonzac.

Many of the other activities and days out described here are great family days out, but the region also has several parks aimed specifically at children - we are happy to provide details.
