House near Saint Remy de Provence, France - Peaceful Location within 5 minute Drive of Saint Remy de Provence.

Beautiful 19th Century Country House recently restored in a Contemporary Style. The house is set in mature gardens of 3,800 square metres with a 10 x 5 metre swimming pool surrounded by a paved sunbathing area with sun loungers. There are two outside dining areas, one by the pool and the other under a shaded pergola adjacent to the kitchen. A perfect setting to sit, relax and enjoy numerous glasses of rose! Historical St Remy with its famous Wednesday market and home to the Romans, Van Gogh and Nostradamus is full of fine shops, restaurants and cafes. The area is home to many excellent vineyards as depicted in "A Good Year" by Peter Mayle. There are many other villages close by including Les Baux de Provence with over three million annual visitors, Eygalieres and Maussanne. St Remy is also within half an hour's drive of Avignon, Arles (Van Gogh Museum and annual photography festival) Nimes and the Camargue and within an hour's drive of Marseille, Montpellier and Aix-en-Provence.

A luxurious One in a Million Provencal 'Mas'

We arrived to a wonderfully updated country house with every amenity one could ever want when renting a vacation home. The house was large and beautiful, as were the grounds and surrounding town area. Wonderful pool (although we were a bit late in the season to take the plunge) and garden area. Very quiet, peaceful and French….with a British spin!

The kitchen was fully functional and every tool needed to prepare and serve a gourmet meal was there. There was even a bountiful supply of spices, condiments and all those "little bits" one always forgets when renting a house on the road! The appliances were all new, as was the fit-out of the entire kitchen, plenty of space and storage. The lighting throughout the house was brilliant and all adjustable to the brightness needed, always a nice mood enhancer!

The living and dining spaces were perfect and provided great options for community time, as well as great places to get away for a nap, a good read or just to be alone, inside or outside. The interior spaces are well decorated and accessorized in a comfortable, contemporary style that is very cool, and guaranteed to make anyone feel right at home. Very well done, right down to the stocked candy dish in the living room.

Bedroom and bathrooms were equally as well thought out as the rest of the house. The rooms were large with beamed ceilings and very comfortable. A cleaning service came mid-week to freshen everything up. The beds were great and heating and cooling were a snap to operate.

But, the truly best part of this rental was by far our hostess (owner), Sandra. In addition to the house rental, Sandra offers a personal concierge service (for an additional fee that was worth every euro) that made our trip just perfect! Upon our arrival, the kitchen was stocked with everything we had previously requested plus she had prepared a delicious dinner for our first evening! For the whole trip, Sandra's advice with directions and destination choices saved us so much time and energy, while also delivering us the "A+ list experience". From places to go, to the most amazing restaurants that no tourist would ever find, to the best wineries to visit and which local markets to see, Sandra hooked us up with reservations, addresses and phone numbers and tips to make it all really easy!

Finally, this trip was a one in a million find for us! A great country, a great house, great food and wine….. all made possible by an extraordinary hostess! Thanks a million!

A beautiful holiday home.

Mas La Belugo is a wonderful property. It is very well maintained and equipped with everything you could possibly need. It has a beautiful garden and swimming pool and plenty of outside space for eating and playing if you have young kids. It is suitable for all age groups - we were there with three generations and hope very much to return. Andrew and Sandra were incredibly helpful and welcoming and really bent over backwards to ensure we had everything we needed. My only wish was that I could have stayed longer than 10 days!

Wonderful Family Vacation

The perfect setting for a four week family vacation (with plenty of room for three couples and a baby in our case). Central to everything we wanted to explore in the Avignon - Nimes - Aix en Provence triangle of vineyards, historical sites, great (and always casual) restaurants, markets, hiking and just relaxing by the pool. Convenient shopping nearby in both traditional small family butchers, bakers and delicatessens as well as familiar supermarkets. We found it quite easy to figure everything out in the community and if we had any questions hosts Sandra and Andrew were never far away and always helpful. In late June and early July the weather was spectacular. Sandra and Andrew provide all of the modern conveniences in a traditional setting that is safe and secure. We had a wonderful vacation.

Idyllic

When I first saw this property on the website, I knew I wanted to spend my 40th there. When I arrived, I didn't expect to be even more taken a back by it's beauty. This house was absolutely perfect for my group, with three different eating areas, and well positioned bedrooms. The house is located in a quiet area off the beaten track, but still close enough to the town, and vineyards. The property was very clean and well maintained. I definitely would love to book this house again, it really is a gem in amongst the French countryside.

The perfect place to slow down and connect with the magic of Provence

I have been waiting to bring women here as part of my tour for 2 years now and the wait was worth it. This villa is in the perfect location - peaceful, close to the track beside the canal for a relaxing walk and great access to one of the main roads through the region near St Remy. As for the villa itself it had everything I was looking for to ensure a trip to remember for the women. If they weren't relaxing by the pool with a book, they were taking an afternoon nap on the most comfortable beds I'd ever slept on! I can't wait to return and share this with another group. The owners were very welcoming, live nearby which is great to know if something goes wrong and all of my interactions with them have been professional, friendly and has totally added to the overall experience. I know i will also be bringing my own family here for a holiday - I almost don't want to tell anyone else about it, it is so good!!

Beautiful property in a great location

The property was of an exceptionally high standard, well equipped and well maintained. The location was excellent,being within walking distance of the village and a very short drive from St Remy de Provence

The house was very spacious with high quality bathrooms and very comfortable beds.

The owner was extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.

This is one of the best properties we have stayed in and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

We are true Francophiles and had holidayed for many years in this area and other parts of the South of France. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and remains unspoilt. There are many festivals throughout the summer celebrating local culture.

Special interest holidays:

Cycling, Walking, Horse Riding, Quad Biking, Wine Tasting, Cookery, Art, Pottery can all be arranged. This is an area famous for the quality of the light and thus attracts artists, musicians and writers who are inspired by its magic. The weekly markets are an attraction in themselves, St Remy is famous for its Wednesday market, Maussanne on Thursday and Eygalieres on Friday. Arles is home to the biggest market in the area every Saturday morning. There are many excellent supermarkets near by as well as local shopping in St Etienne du Gres with its wonderful baker and butcher as well as a newspaper shop/tabac, greengrocer and florist.

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach (45 minutes by car) is at Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer in the Camargue and all the beaches of the Cote d'Azur are within a two hour drive.

The house retains its period character whilst having been recently renovated in a contemporary style. All beds are extremely comfortable. All bedrooms have adequate wardrobe space. The windows all have shutters so the house remains cool in the summer and insulated in the winter. The house is alarmed and has electric gates so is extremely safe and secure. All kitchen/crockery is matching and of a very high standard. Plastic glasses are available for around the pool. Outside: External lighting to the garden allows romantic night entertaining and the pool is lit underwater for night time swimming. There are two al fresco dining areas, one by the pool and the other adjacent to the kitchen under a pergola with a barbecue. Utility Room: Fridge, large capacity washing machine and separate tumble dryer. Ironing board and iron. Large sink and lots of cupboard space. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and 100% cotton bedlinen are included. Separate pool towels. Mid week clean included. Additional cleaning by arrangement.
