The apartment is contained within the recently constructed “Les Ecrins Etoiles” luxury development which comprises a total of 60 apartments contained within 3 detached chalet-style buildings planned over basement, ground and four upper floors. The apartment is on the first floor (lift access) and benefits from a south facing balcony with views to the mountains. The development was built by renowned alpine builder MGM Constructeur and is situated within a prime location just 75m from the historic main square and its shops, cafes, bakeries and restaurants offering every convenience for the holiday maker. The apartment offers flexible accommodation for couples or families and can accommodate up to 6 people. Please note that a supplement will apply for more than 4 people.

Beautiful area

Stayed here for a week with my husband and 14 and 21 year old offspring. They slept well in the bunk beds and the double bed is very comfy. We took fans as we are always too hot at night and these did help. We ate out twice. The town has plenty of good places to eat and lovely patisseries for a cake with coffee. We made good use of the balcony to eat and barbecued twice. The apartment is well equipped with everything you need. The journey from Calais was 9 hours not 7 as suggested and we only stopped for toilet and fuel breaks. It was worth it for the spectacular walks and bike rides. We enjoyed exploring the local area on bikes and it feels very safe as the roads are quiet. The tracks by the river are very pretty and we cycled to Morillon one day to the lake which was lovely and only took about 20 mins by the river. Enjoyed swimming there and also the "go ape" style high wires there. We went up on the cable car where the views were spectacular and lots of well signed walks. Would have liked to stay longer and explore the wider area.

Comfortable and Convenient

Samoens is the loveliest of towns with great character. The apartment was very comfortable, especially the beds after a hard day's skiing! There was good storage space and it was well kitted out. The living area was a little bit squeezed for 4 adults, but we were able to make use of the balcony as it was quite warm. Everything necessary is within walking distance so it made for a very convenient location and good value too. Would happily recommend.

Excellent !

A wonderful week in beautiful Sameons . This was our second time staying in Sameons village but our first stay in the apartment . The location was brilliant a quick stroll to the village centre , close to fabulous restaurants and lovely shops . The apartment is very well appointed with everything you need for a very comfortable stay . We would certainly recommend and hope to stay again . Love it !!!

Not To be Missed

Just returned from a brilliant two week break at the apartment and the village of Samoens. The apartment lived up to all expectations and more. The use of the underground secure car park was a real bonus.

The village of Samoens is very pretty and we were pleasantly pleased with all the activities that the village has to offer.

Many thanks to Judith who despite not meeting her, she was a brilliant help throughout the booking of the apartment (the directions were spot on).

I would not hesitate in recommending the apartment to anyone.

A winter in Samoens

We rented this apartment on a long-stay basis, from January through until the end of March, as a weekend retreat whilst living temporarily in Lyon. In this respect the apartment was perfect for us as it enjoys a very central location, is well managed and, as you might expect from a MGM property, is finished to a high standard. We appreciated the ease of access, the underground car park, ample storage space and the fact that the ski shuttle bus stops close by. We frequently invited guests to come an stay with us, and enjoyed many an evening sitting around the dining table with friends after a day's skiing. The apartment is warm (we rarely used the radiators) and the balcony proved to be a bonus when spring came early as we were able to sit out in the late afternoon when the snow dictated an early finish. Judith, who runs the apartment on behalf of her god-daughter, couldn't have been more cooperative and ensured we enjoyed a trouble-free stay. I would thoroughly recommend the apartment for couples or for families with a couple of children/teenagers as there is a second bedroom but it is equipped with bunk beds (we did have adults staying in bunks but only for a couple of days).

Samoens itself is a fabulous base for a winter holiday, and much has been written elsewhere about its charm. Getting there is quick and very straightforward and this is another reason why we chose this resort. From here the whole of the Grand Massif ski area is easily accessible via the fast gondola, and despite spending the entire winter here we never tired of exploring the vast array of ski runs.

In short, we would recommend this apartment and the resort of Samoens to any future guest.

Samoens Apartment

We had a great holiday over the Christmas period, the apartment is right in the town so very convenient, it met all our needs and was a great base for exploring the area. The underground car park was a great way of getting luggage and shopping into the apartment, just need to make sure you use the right lift!

It was nice to have a king size bed and really comfortable bedding and there was pretty much everything we needed in the apartment, there are also extras not mentioned on the web site, for example a hair dryer and blankets, etc.

The local restaurants were all open over Christmas and the shops stayed open late creating a really lovely atmosphere in the town. There were plenty of events on each day and evening making it very festive in the town including plays, markets, fireworks and ice skating, etc. There were a lot of events especially for children.

The apartment is a short walk from the lift to the ski hill or the ski bus stops very close. There are a couple of general grocery stores a short walk away and a large Carforr which is 5 minutes drive.

We visit this area frequently and would definately stay at this apartment again.

Although Samoëns is far from the sea there are mountain lakes where you can enjoy the 'beach experience'. Some of them are lifeguarded.


Nearest Airport: Geneva / Geneve - 57 kms

Nearest Train: Cluses - 19 kms

Nearest Port: Calais - 869 kms

Although car hire is not necessary for a skiing holiday at Samoëns (there are good transfers from the airport - we will give you all the links necessary), if you wish to visit further afield then a car is essential.

In the summer a car is essential to discover the wonderful experiences that the area around Samoëns has to offer.

Samoens is well known for skiing but it is also the perfect destination for those interested in alpine summer holidays for the whole family, as well as catering for dedicated sports enthusiasts. The weather is good with average temperatures between May and September of 20 to 30C. There is a whole host of activities and the scenery is quite simply breath-taking. You can enjoy everything from swimming in the lifeguarded mountain lakes and pools, to hiking, rafting, rock climbing, parapenting, mountain biking, and road biking. The evenings cool down nicely so sleeping in the apartment is never a problem! There are two Indiana Adventure parks close by and a number of golf courses.

Weekly rates throughout the year include all water, electricity and electric heating. Long lets during low season are available by negotiation. Weekend lets are according to availability. A returnable damage deposit of 250€ is payable with the balance 8 weeks before the holiday begins. Payment is accepted in Euros (please contact us if you prefer to pay in sterling). We regret we are unable to accept animals. Linen including towels is provided and cleaning at the end of the stay is 60€.

Changeover Day:
Changeover days are flexible allowing guests to take advantage of low cost mid-week air fares. Arrival times should be after 16H00 and departure before 10H00.

Notes on prices:
Prices are fully inclusive of electricity, electric heating, water. Please note cleaning has a charge of 60€ to be left in cash at the end of the holiday. The advertised prices are for 4 people: there will be a supplement for groups of 5 or 6. Although advertised prices are in Euros we can accept sterling payments should you prefer this.

For those who wish to ski there is a private ski locker. The apartment is excellent for families with young children as it is situated on the first floor (lift access) and in a secure residential complex with no thoroughfare. A cot and high chair are provided for those with babies. A good creche is within walking distance. Outside: The property benefits from a lovely south facing balcony furnished with table, 4 chairs, 2 sun loungers and a patio heater with views over the communal garden to the mountains. There is an electric barbecue. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and bed linen are included in the rental price and the apartment is cleaned at the end of each stay (60€ to be left in cash at the end of the stay for cleaning) Other: Leading off the lounge is a beautifully furnished south facing balcony with views across the grounds towards the mountains.
