The cottage is approximately 46m² on two floors: on the ground floor is the living room/kitchen and upstairs is the double bedroom with en-suite shower room. There is electric heating and a wood-burning stove, making even the coldest winter weather comfortable. Outside there is a completely private courtyard with barbecue - ideal for summer eating or evening apéro. On-street parking is nearby.

We live in the village full-time and are on hand to greet our guests personally and do everything we can to enable them to have an enjoyable holiday.

We are English but also speak French.

We love this area because it has something for everyone - sun, sea, sand, mountains, outdoor activities, history and towns nearby.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Carcassone (or Beziers 80km) at 30 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Le Florilège (Moux) at 200 Metres Nearest Train : Lézignan Corbières at 10 Kilometres Nearest Motorway : Lézignan Corbières at 8 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Le Florilège (Moux) at 200 Metres Nearest Beach : Narbonne Plage (Mediterranean) at 45 Kilometres Car: necessary

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beaches are on the Mediterranean at Narbonne and Gruissan: an easy 45 kilometres by car. The beaches on this coast are big, long and sandy. There are numerous cafés and restaurants at Narbonne plage and at the port of Gruissan.

Travel:

The nearest airports are Carcassonne, 30 km away; and Beziers 80 km: both are well served by RyanAir during the holiday season. Alternative airports are Perpignan and little further afield, Montpellier, Girona (Spain) and Toulouse. Car hire is recommended.

The nearest railway station is Lézignan Corbières, 10 kilometres from Moux and this line runs between Narbonne and Carcassonne. Narbonne station is served by the TGV.

The nearest motorway exit is Lézignan Corbières, Exit 25 on the A61.

Distances:

Carcassonne and its mediaeval city are 30 km by car and the Canal du Midi is within 10 km. Both are World Heritage sites. Also nearby are Lagrasse with its mediaeval Abbey and Minerve in the Canyon de la Cesse, which are two of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France (The Most Beautiful Villages Of France). Day trips to consider: the Roman town of Narbonne with its Gothic cathedral, the Cathar castles, Limoux, Andorra and the Pyrenees, the African Wildlife Park at Sigean. Spain is only a hour's drive.

Further Details:

There is a bar/café/restaurant, convenience store, post office, pharmacy and a doctor’s surgery in the village. In Lézignan Corbières there are supermarkets, shops, bars, restaurants, banks and a market every Wednesday. Carcassonne and Narbonne both offer traditional town centre and market shopping together with out of town hypermarkets.

The Mediterranean coast with its long sandy beaches is a short drive away or try wine tasting along one of the Routes des Vins. Take a picnic and go walking, cycling, or canoeing/kayaking - local hire is available. Recently opened in Lézignan Corbières is a free-fall skydiving simulator or you can try parachuting.

The list of things to do is almost endless, but the owners live in the village and are always on hand with help and advice if you need it.

The cottage benefits from a dedicated 20Mb/s wifi connection.

We are happy to accept payment by bank transfer in Euro or Sterling. Alternatively you can use PayPal.

Security deposit:
There is a security deposit payable on arrival of 150€ (€250 for long winter lets). This can be cash or a cheque drawn on a French bank account.

Changeover Day:
Change over is Saturday if the booking is in June, July, August or September, otherwise we are flexible. Arrival time is from 16:00 and check-out is before 10:00 unless otherwise agreed.

Notes on prices:
Long term rentals are available October to March for a minimum of four weeks. October and March are also available for short holidays. Our quoted monthly rate is for a four week month. Please contact us for availability.
