Description

Cottage 2 Sleeps 3-4 (2 Bedrooms)

Completed March 2011, the cottage will sleep up to 3 guests. The former old barn entrance now serves as a large window which floods light into the the open plan living area downstairs and the main bedroom upstairs.

In the corner of the living area is a fireplace with a woodburner in addition to the underfloor heating which is fitted throughout.

The new fitted kitchen is complete with all appliances including dishwasher and washing machine.

There are two bedrooms upstairs which consist of one large bedroom with a 6ft Super king 'Zip 'n' Link' bed that can be divided into twin singles and a smaller bedroom which has a 3ft 6ins super single. We also have a 3ft Futon bed that can be made up with a sprung mattress on top by prior arrangement for an additional person.

If needed we also have space for vans and trailers with an electric hook up by arrangement. Sorry we no longer accept pets.

The cottages were converted from an original barn/shippon and our first cottage which sleeps 2 guests was opened in September 2010. The second, larger cottage was completed in March 2011. The cottages both benefit from underfloor heating throughout provided by renewable Groundsource Heating making them highly energy efficient. For those who enjoy outdoor activities this is the perfect location, with many walking routes from short strolls to full day hikes leading straight from the door. The Pennine Way and the Pennine Bridleway are close by and we overlook Hollingworth Lake with its Watersport Activity Centre and Whittaker Golf Club.

About Jean Molyneux

I am a 50 something part time farmer and odd job around the place person.

I live in the farmhouse along with my husband and sons; my mum lives next door. We are usually around the farm have a very good local knowledge and are happy to offer advice if required.

The farm is a working farm, with a small flock of sheep and two sheepdogs. It is still very much a family affair; my mum likes to take the dogs out in the morning for a little walk, my husband is involved with the farm and the cottages (he does the tractor driving/fixing and technical stuff). My sons are around from time to time..

It is very quiet and peaceful here, many of our guests comment on this and we like to keep it that way!

The cottages are ideal for anyone who enjoys the outdoors. There are walks and cycle rides that lead from the farm out onto the moors and we have maps and walking guides in both cottages.

This is a very good base to explore the north west of England. Manchester is easily accessible by train or car. Hebden Bridge and Bronte Country are also within easy reach.

Booking Notes:
We accept internet, postal and telephone bookings. We ask for a 25% deposit to secure the booking and the balance is due 6 weeks before arrival.

Changeover Day:
Our normal change over day is Friday but we can be flexible.
We ask visitors not to arrive before 3.p.m and to check out before 10 p.m.

Manchester is 45 minutes by car and 30 minutes on the train from Littleborough

Hebden Bridge is 20 minutes by train from Littleborough or a lovely 20 minute drive over the moors.

Littleborough has a range of independent shops and 2 supermarkets.

The Rake Tapas is a 10-15 minute walk, there are a number of restaurants around Hollingworth Lake and Littleborough hosts a variety of pubs, places to eat and takeaways.
