This holday bungalow can accommodate 4 people in two bedrooms. It is comfortable,clean and bright with spectacular views of the Needles and only 3 minutes walk to a safe beach. The round-the-Island coastal path passes through the site, within a few steps of the bungalow. Brambles Chine is a 40 acre site of privately owned semi-detached holiday bungalows surrounded by well tended lawns. It is in a peaceful location, approached by an unmade up road. The site facilities include a small shop, launderette, pitch and putt, crazy golf, grass tennis court, football pitch, swings and more but this bungalow is in a very quiet part of the site, on the opposite side from the recreation area.

About Margaret Matthews

I grew up on the Isle of Wight and, although I spent my working life on the mainland, I always retained a nostalgic affection for "the Island". In 2011, following retirement and serious illness, I was able to buy this bungalow as a peaceful retreat to help with my recovery. Now that I am well again I have resumed my hobby of spending extended periods motorcaravanning and this is why I have decided to let my bungalow so that it can be enjoyed by other people rather than leaving it standing empty.

Why Margaret Matthews chose Isle of Wight

Brambles Chine was an ideal choice, being very easily reached from Yarmouth. It is on the quieter side of the Island and, of course, the location and views cannot be beaten. The particular bungalow I chose is in a secluded and peaceful part of the site which appealed to me.

What makes this bungalow unique

The property is ideal as a base for gentle or strenuous walking, cycling or sailing activities, for visiting all the attractions which the Island has to offer, or just for enjoying the peace and quiet and the beautiful views.

Location

Coast/Beach:

3 minutes on foot to the beach.

Travel:

Brambles Chine is a ten minute drive from the Wight Link ferry terminal at Yarmouth (from Lymington). Early booking is recommended.

It is possible to walk to it via the coastal path in 40 minutes and there are excellent bus services on the Isle of Wight but a car is recommended for maximum benefit.

Distances:

Totland and Freshwater are about two miles away and Yarmouth is about 3.

Further Details:

Nowhere is very far from anywhere else on the Isle of Wight and it is possible to enjoy all the Island attractions from this bungalow by car or excellent bus service. Close at hand there is Freshwater with a variety of local shops and 2 small supermarkets (Coop and Sainsburys), a hairdresser, library and Leisure Centre including swimming pool. Lots of places to eat including restaurants, cafes and takeaway shops. Yarmouth has fewer, more specialised shops and caters more for tourists with many cafes, restaurants and hotels. Colwell Bay is a ten minute walk along the beach providing a beach shop and two tea rooms.

No pets. Unfortunately the site rules permit only owners' pets in the bungalows.

Notes on accommodation: The bungalow has gas central heating (radiators in all room). Cost of this is included in the rental. If you do any washing (machine provided) there is a rotary line outside or a dryer in the launderette on site. There is a floor-standing electric fan Outside: There is a private patio ejoying fantastic views. Table, dining chairs and canvas chairs are provided together with a sun parasol which we hope you will need. The bungalow is surrounded by lawns where ball games are not permitted. There is a recreation field offering such things as swings and climbing apparatus, pitch and putt, grass tennis court, etc on the far side of the estate from where the bungalow is sited Utility Room: No separate utility room but vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board, and various item of cleaning equipment are provided. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The bungalow is cleaned between lets. Bed linen (sheets, pillow cases, duvet covers) is included and beds will be made up when you arrive. Towels (one bath and one hand per person) are included. For two-week stays a second set of everything is provided.

Quiet, clean and comfortable. Home from home

The bungalow was great, wonderful sea view and close to the beach. Everything you need for a relaxing time, especially the thoughtful extras like milk tea and coffee and not forgetting the wine!. All attractions were easy to get to and the information leaflets left were an inspiration :-) We had a great time and would highly recommend a stay here.

Great location

We stayed here for Easter Weekend to visit family and i wanted to be located near my favourite beach (Colwell Bay). We are a family of 4 with two kids aged 3 and 6. This chalet was one of the best and safest on site as had a grass area in front of chalet for kids to play and not overlooked. Views to the Needles to! Chalet was lovely and modern with a brand new kitchen. Beds really comfy with quality bedding/towels. Very well equipped with everything a family needed including a bottle of wine on arrival !! Already planning a return trip.thankyou

Holiday heaven

Family of four (kids aged 4 & 8) loved staying here. All the convenience of being at home, with a great family beach on the doorstep. Owner Margaret made us welcome from the word go - leaving milk in the fridge and a bottle of wine. If we'd had the chance to stay 2 weeks we would have!

Booking Notes:
Please check the availability calendar and then contact the owner, preferably by email. A deposit (non refundable) of 10% will be required and bookings will be held for 7 days to enable you to send this. The balance is required 6 weeks prior to travel. For bookings made within 6 weeks of the time of arrival the full amount must be paid at the time of booking.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is usually Saturday but this may possibly be varied for last minute or out of season bookings.
You may arrive any time after 2pm. Please vacate the bungalow by 10am on day of departure.

Notes on prices:
Although the minimum let is usually 7 days, short breaks (Friday to Monday or Monday to Friday) may be available. The daily rate is one sixth of the weekly rate.
