Updated: 11-Oct-2016
Village house in Aups, Var, Provence-Alpes-Cote DAzur, France - Located On A Quiet Pedestrian Street Yet Close To All The Excellent Shops And Cafés Of Aups

Cool in summer, warm and cosy in the fresher months, this is a delightful small house for a couple. Bedroom with king-size bed and adjacent separate bathroom on the top floor; beamed sitting room with French door and balcony overlooking the garden and comfortable double sofa bed ; very pretty kitchen with antique country table and chairs in dining area opening through French doors onto paved terrace with Provence-tiled round table. Steps down to small, private garden with deck chairs. Overhanging fig trees for welcome shade but still with areas for catching the sun. At the highest part of town so far reaching views from the bedroom window. Beautiful and well-marked walks in the forested hills immediately behind Aups. Excellent touring base for this special corner of Provence with wonderful hilltop villages, wild dramatic scenery of Gorges du Verdon; swimming in the pure waters of Lac St Croix or day trips to the beaches of the Cote d'Azur.

A note of thanks for the Small House in Aups. I'm starting to look a bit familiar to some of the locals like the waiter in St. Marc restaurant - where I ate about 1/2 a dozen times. Just the friendliest lot of people. Steve, Los Angeles (regular guest)
