"We have spent two fabulous summer holidays at Costabrot with our children and a large group of friends. The house is amazing with real wow factor as you walk in and ideal for our children. The area provides lots to do, but it was also great to stay around the house and let the kids amuse themselves. "
"The family loved Costabrot, it is like the tardis and seems so big on the inside. We got into "Costabrot Time" where everybody is so laid back and chilled and the days seem to drift by. " the Auvergne is an undiscovered French gem."
" A magical location, fantastic house and shared amongst 4 families is really good value for money"

Brilliant house in the country
We stayed here for 2 weeks in July/August 2015. The scenery is beautiful, watching the sunset over the valley and the light fade on the cliff overlooking the property was a highlight, as was stargazing at the clear sky at night. We has a few days of bad weather, but the house is so large there was plenty of space for indoor games and activities that kept us occupied. Good helpful service and advice about the local area from the owners too.
I would definitely recommend this to large family/friend groups who want to be 'away from it all': Besse is a beautiful town with lots of amenities, but it is a fairly long drive, if you want the hustle and bustle of markets and shops every day. But for a place to relax, have fun, play games, go for walks, see amazing landscapes, this is a superb place to stay.
What a great house
We stayed at this house for a week at the end of October and absolutely loved it. There were 13 of us including 4 teenage boys and the house is large enough for everyone to have space and hang out together. The directions from the owners were spot on and enabled us to find the house even in the dark! We strongly recommend this house as a great rural holiday home in a stunning setting.
Our family enjoyed two wonderful weeks in this property this August. The weather was absolutely glorious - with hot sun all of every day bar two. The accommodation is pretty much as described and the owners were very helpful in advising on what we might do and see as well as the rental administration.
The site is very quiet and well away from the beaten track. The local scenery is stunning. For star gazer's the night sky is dark and the is excellent visibility in all directions.
We had 8 adults and two young children. There is plenty of space and equipment for this number, with room for games as well a space to get away from the others. The stairs are steep and a bit difficulty for the very young. The sight was also excellent for our dogs. Everything worked, and we found the property clean and functional. But the place is rustic and is 20 minutes from the nearest supermarket.
There is plenty to see locally, but the emphasis is on outdoor pursuits , walking, cycling, climbing etc. Some really nice villages to walk around. We would recommend this strongly to friends and relatives.
Beautiful views surround the house
We have just returned from 'Costabrot' with our three energetic boys and pet dog. When choosing our holiday destination space was one of the most important factors and this place has it in abundance - another two families could have fitted quite easily! The boys loved sleeping in the attic room and exploring the wood on the hillside behind the house. We spent most evenings sat outside with the most perfect view as the sun set behind the mountains.
Places that we enjoyed visiting were the beautiful nearby town of 'Besse', swimming in 'Lac Chambon' and walking around 'Lac Pavin'. This was our first visit to the Auvergne and we loved the region as there were plenty of different things to do and even during peak season nothing was to busy.
A thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing week was had by all!
