Lovely authentic thatched cottage

  • 5 of 5

If you like quirky, homely old cottages, then look no further as this is a real gem. When you have somewhere to stay like this, then you don't care what the the weather is like outside, as all you want to do is light the log burner and snuggle up in its authentic beamed interior. Everything you need is there in the cottage, including complimentary welcome present of tea, biscuit's and milk, and if you are lucky enough to book in the summer, you also have a sweet private garden in which to tuck in to them and relax after your travels or days out.

If however you can drag yourself away, then it's only 3 miles country road drive to lulworth cove and all the country and coast delights that spawn off it. This makes it an ideal location for a quiet break in a sweet quiet Dorset village, whilst having easy access to multiple nearby attractions, or alternatively a great base to throw off your office worker shackles and walk and cycle to your hearts content in beautiful countryside until you are tired but happy. I'm definitely coming back!

Beautiful Dorset Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Out stay was fabulous, peaceful and relaxing but still within walking distance of the village shop and pub which serves great food! The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and comfortable a real home from home, and lovely touches like fresh flowers a small welcome pack even a doggy box! I can only imagine how beautiful it must look in the spring and summer when the garden is in bloom. We visited Lulworth cove (walking distance if you like to stretch your legs a bit) and Durdle door the Jurassic coast did not disappoint stunning scenery . We visited West Bay (where Broadchurch is filmed) Weymouth ,Poole and our fabouratie places were Wareham , Monkey World was an amazing day out what fantastic rescue work they do it's was really touching to see the care they give to the monkeys.

From my first contact with Judith the owner she was professional, friendly and happy to suggest places for us to visit and answer any questions I had and Gloria the housekeeper rang us to make sure we had arrived safe and to make sure we had everything we needed .

We would certainly visit again and I would recommend this to cottage to friends and family we came home feeling very relaxed!

Beautiful cottage

  • 5 of 5

We could not fault this beautiful cottage in any way and the owner has thought of everything with respect of everyone's needs within the cottage. The location is idylic and it's just what you would expect of a village. Also places to visit were within easy reach. We would definitely recommend it to friends and family. The only fault, and it's no reflection on the cottage or village is that lorries and heavy traffic thunder through at fast speeds., maybe the owners should campaign about putting speed restrictions in for this beautiful village.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review, Clayton & we hope that you will return. The traffic has increased through the village because of sat navs & we are campaigning for some traffic calming measures. Happy to say that with the cottage & garden not being directly situated on the main road, this doesn't impact on the noise for anyone staying in the cottage. Hope to see you again soon.

Most enjoyable stay

  • 5 of 5

Had the opportunity to stay in Milton Cottage at the beginning of May during a sunny spell. Easy to follow instructions to the cottages front door. Small tidy courtyard completely safe for our dog with table and chairs for outside dining. The owners had thoughtfully provided a hamper of tea and biscuits and milk in the fridge which was so welcome after our long journey. Comfortable beds. I was initially concerned about the steepness of the stairs as we were visiting with my parents aged 79 and 83.... But both managed comfortably. Lots of lovely walks and a well stocked village shop. Will be back.

Beautiful cosy cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Milton Cottage, from first enquiry right through to check out time, Judith and Gloria made the whole experience easy and an absolute pleasure.

The cottage is well located for many local attractions and is very well equipped with almost everything you think you need, the woodburning fire was a particular favourite of ours and made the evenings super cosy.

I cant wait to visit again and see the garden in its summer glory.

Thanks so much for making our stay so easy and relaxing
