The walking tour of our house begins with the photos of the outside: The Pretty recently renovated south facing cottage style house situated on a quiet road just outside Jugon Les Lacs has a large mature garden that offers complete privacy and a sun trap for relaxation. The front gates open up into a large gravelled area that provides ample parking and looks out across a fully developed lawn and flower garden that includes, BBQ and sun bathing areas, overlooked by the house. The house is a typical French stone cottage with beamed low ceilings downstairs recently renovated to provide a light airy space complemented by modern comfortable furnishings with all the conveniences of a permanent residence. Rest and relaxation in an idyllic setting.

Beautiful house and gardens in a peaceful setting.Very well equipped and comfortable,ideal for families.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the outside space is brilliant for games and Barbecuing.Close to the village and a good central point for exploring the stunning beaches and the medieval town of Dinan.

Would highly recommend a stay here.Very friendly and helpful owners.

We have just returned from this beautiful home in brittany.It was the most exceptional place to stay. We can not recommend this freshly renovated home highly enough.

It is situated in a lovely area and it has the most amazing private garden,it ticks all the right boxes-location-comfort-privacy-spacious-peacefulness the ideal place to chill out.

The owners could not be more helpful.It's a wonderful place,definitely 5 star.

From the Owner

Although the house and sunny private garden clinched it for us. We chose the location because there are so many things to see and do within easy reach all year round. Click on the "our website" link in the "Facilities" tab of this advert for for a map that shows a taster of what's going on. Our little village of Jugon itself is a lively place, with shops, bars and restaurants in the square and a fantastic lake and activity centre. Our local town Dinan (20 minutes away) originally drew us to the area with its medieval centre and mixture of chic and quirky shops and restaurants. Dinan is on the Rance estuary which meets the sea a few miles north at the picturesque towns of St Malo and Dinard. St Malo is the closest Ferry port and just 40 minutes from the house.

For serious shopping/browsing activity there are hypermarkets in the charming medieval town of Dinan 20 minutes away by car. A visit to Dinan's medieval centre and its busting Thursday market is a must. The town offers many restaurants and independent shops and galleries, and a wealth of historic buildings and cultural activities that will amuse all ages.

On a sunny day, the coast between St Malo and St Brieuc is a breath taking mixture of bright green sea, huge un-crowded clean sandy beaches, and granite cliffs, all within 30-40 minutes drive.


The property is easy to find, a mile from the main road, and less than 1hour’s drive from the Ferry port of St Malo, and the airports at Dinard and Rennes which have low cost and scheduled flights to dozens of European and long haul destinations and local car hire. Rennes is also on the TGV high speed rail network.

To fully explore the area a car is needed. However the roads are safe for cycling and the area has a many good cycle/walking routes.

From the Owner

There is a lot of coast within easy reach of the house between St Malo and St Brieuc. On a sunny day the coast is a breathtaking mix of emerald green sea, huge uncrowded flat sand beaches, and rocky cliffs. As you would expect there is plenty of seafood, and every kind of water sport, beech sport, golf, cycling and walking for all abilities. Our local chateau has gardens to visit, and there are things to do on wet days in the main towns. Spring arrives early and summer drags out to October. For us we love a mixture of chilling out at home in the garden, and exploring the region. If you choose to stay we hope you will have a great time and good memories. Jon Dawn and Milly

  • Outside: Outside there is ample space including, separate BBQ and sunbathing areas, for relaxed outdoor living on warm days. (see photos) Utility Room: There is a small utility area off the back of the Kitchen with; storage, vacuum cleaner and cleaning equipment, adjacent to the downstairs bathroom/cloakroom. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included, as is a weekly change on change over day. Additional changes of linen, cleaning and maid service are not included but may be arranged with the housekeeper. Beach towels are not included. Other: The entrance to the house is through a large south facing conservatory, overlooking the garden. The room is comfortably furnished with sofas and a bistro table and chairs to provide an alternative to the lounge living area.
