Lovely Two Storey 3 Bedroom Lodge In St Ives With Pool

Overview

Property

Updated: 26-Aug-2016
Cottage in Lelant, St Ives, Cornwall, England

The two story lodge is set in a woodland, within the privately owned section of 'St Ives Holiday Village' just a few mins walk away. It's quiet, comfy and represents great value holidaying. We have made lots of upgrades to the property since purchase in 2012, including **new bathrooms for 2014** new kitchen upgrades, newly carpeted bedrooms, brand new 32" TV, & DVD Player, new 3 seat sofa & a very comfy sofa bed, to make it a "home from home."

Whilst the lodge is privately owned, it does benefit from several onsite facilities, including a heated indoor swimming pool, playground & nightly kids & grown ups entertainment (with bar), if so desired.

The property, situated in Lelant provides a superb base for visiting the quaint villages and tourist attractions of West Cornwall. Land's End and St Michael's Mount are approximately 20 minutes drive away, and its proximity to the A30 means that the Eden Project and most of Cornwall's attractions are also within easy reach.

Great place - tidy & lovely layout

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a few over half term and had a blast. Yes, not the best weather, but surf was big so our days will still on the beach.

The Lodge itself has 3 beds downstairs, and upstairs kitchen & lounge. Worked well for us - clean & tidy with all that you need - TV/DVD, washing machine etc.

The owner was incredibly helpful - esp as we have young kids too.

Overall, a really great holiday in a nice house in a great part of the world. Recommended

Amazing week in the sunshine!

  • 5 of 5

Managed to get a last minute week here in mid April. We were really lucky in that upon arrival the winter almost immediately ended and spring sprung in to life!

We (4 and 6 year old & single dad) had the most fantastic time in St Ives. The lodge was immaculate throughout and was everything we hoped for. The park was first rate for the children with regular evening entertainment that they loved. The 4 year old loved the show, and the 6 year old loved the row of Xbox along the back. I enjoyed the bar!

As for the surroundings, the beaches were superb, with local supermarkets making everything easy for us.

Overall, I would heartily recommend this lodge, and have actually already enquired about returning before the end of the summer.

Great Break, Great House

  • 5 of 5

We were fortunate to use this holiday home “out of season” for the Feb half term & even managed to get some sunshine Whilst I can’t comment on any facilities there (such as the pool as it was closed) the house was a great base for us for a week. Everything was clean, the kitchen new and the whole house had a very “home from home feeling”. The owners were very helpful, even down to recommending specific restaurants & places to visit (you must try the Pasties from St Ives Bakery).

Overall we were delighted with this holiday let & sure if we venture down to St Ives again would want to stay here again.

Thank you very much for a fabulous break.

Great for children

  • 4 of 5

The communication between us and the owners prior to and after booking our holiday was excellent and second to none.

The cottage was very spacious, clean and tidy and accommodated the 5 of us very comfortably. Having the washing machine was a real bonus and it was possible to dry clothes and swim wear either inside or on the balcony. The kitchen is modern and very tidy as are the bathroom and 2nd separate toilet. There was plenty of space to eat at the table and the sofas were spacious and comfortable too.

The cottage is fantastically placed to be able to reach many different sandy beaches at St.Ives and Hayle. St. Michael's mount is not far away. Praa Sands offer kayaking for the more adventurous but we found it is cheaper to go from Carbis Bay - easily hired from the beach.

For us the downside was the general lack of maintenance of the holiday park as a whole. The children loved the swimming pool with it's water slide and separate toddler pool but despite it all being clean, it just needed a little bit of money spent on it to keep it up to date. We braved the evening entertainment on one night. The children thought it was amazing and loved joining in with the bingo and dancing but we found it was dire and fairly cringe-worthy. I guess it was just not our thing! The children's play area was ok, but again, would have benefitted from some investment. All the staff there were excellent and very helpful.

The cottage itself is great for families. I would suggest you bring your own bedding if you like a bit of luxury as the bedding is very functional but not that pretty with John Fowler Holidays logo printed all over with their colours!

We were very happy with the cottage and as a base for exploring the St.Ives area of Cornwall, it is ideal, we would definitely return.

Thank you to the owners.

Lovely just lovely

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 1 week at this fabulous accommodation, we found it to be equipped with everything we needed, it was clean and modern and perfectly situated on the park, we loved the birds flying onto the bird feeder everyday, and the quietness at night - you could hear a pin drop,we felt well rested after our week here. We did use the clubhouse for the children mainly as we are not mad about clubhouses, but what we saw seemed very good, the entertainment team worked hard to amuse all ages. I would recommend this lovely house to anyone adults and children.

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed there last year and have rebooked this year for a holiday with the kids. We loved it! The owners are very helpful & found booking was easy & straightforward

The accommodation is clean & tidy with the 3 bedrooms downstairs. Upstairs is the lounge with small kitchen (wish the balcony was bigger too) but this layout works well if a little odd. The furniture is comfortable & new, my only niggle is that the bathroom is a little dated

The holiday home is on a holiday park, and being honest could do with a face lift. We didn’t use the club house much, but kids did like the pool. The forest it’s in was perfect – kids loved running around & exploring

St Ives itself is a few miles away, but we preferred Hayle beach – massive open sandy beach with hardly anyone on. Don’t miss it and assume St Ives is the best beach. Top tip too if you want taxi in St Ives is use Ace Cars – they have a discounted rate of £8 if I remember correctly. Or bus service

Overall St Ives and surrounding areas are amazing. The accommodation is good & owners are friendly and helpful. We are already looking forward to returning
