Wonderful Holiday Villa

We had a great stay here! Athena was very welcoming and helpful throughout our holiday. The house is comfortable, well maintained and in a beautiful setting. We used both sections of the house, which worked very well as an extended family group. A great base from which to explore all that Paxos has to offer—we look forward to our next visit!

Skipper - heaven!

A fabulous villa, superb views and exceptionally clean and comfortable. Perfect position too, right on the sea, beautifully peaceful and with fantastic views, but still only a 15 min walk to the centre of Gaios. Spiros and Dinah could not have been more welcoming and more helpful. Paxos - just stunning. All the family voted Paxos the nicest Greek island of any, and the villa as "best ever"! Thank-you.

Perfect! In every way.

We really got lucky with this accommodation! Villa Skipper Emmanuel is a stunning property, a short walk up the hill from the beautiful port of Gaois. The villa is split into two - the first & second floor accommodation can be rented separately from the ground floor apartment we had. For most of our stay (due to the time of year) we were the only guests and so had the whole outside area to ourselves – sun loungers, dining area, a beautiful pool. Just stunning. However, when other guests arrived, we still felt we had very private accommodation.

The apartment was absolutely perfect – a very good size for two people, with more than enough room. It is extremely well fitted out – very tasteful & exceptionally clean. Although it is essentially one very large room (with a big en-suite bathroom, and huge walk-in shower) – it feels much larger because of the good use of the space and three sets of double patio doors which open out onto the pool area.

Owners, Spiros & Dina, could not have been more welcoming. They visited the villa regularly to check on the pool, empty bins, change towels etc and it was always a real pleasure to see them. Nothing was ever too much trouble – when we wanted to hire a car, Spiros arranged this through his sister. When the modem was damaged due to a spectacular electrical storm, Spiros replaced it immediately. He gave us lots of great tips and advice about where to go, what to see – and was generally a fantastic host.

The villa is within walking distance of Gaois, where there are many fantastic restaurants & harbourside bars. If you can bear to leave either Villa Skipper Emmanuel or Gaois itself, recommended trips out would be Loggos, about 8km north, Mongonissi to the south, a boat trip over to Anti-Paxos and if you have a vehicle across to the west side of the island and the many remote beaches. (Just be aware access to some can be difficult, so don’t go in flip-flops!)

We had an amazing break at this villa and couldn’t recommend it, the owners, or Gaois more highly.

Amazing place to stay

Villa Skipper was a truly wonderful place to stay. A modern spacious apartment with all the facilities you would expect, situated a stone?s throw from the sea and a 10 minute stroll from the main town, Gaios.

The apartments are owned, and managed, by Spiros and his wife who keep the place spotlessly clean and flawlessly managed. Upon arrival Spiros was kind enough to collect us from the port in Gaios (only a 2 minute drive from the apartments) and he had also stocked the fridge with food, wine, and water to last us the first day.

The apartments are situated up a hill about 10-15 minutes by foot from the centre of the main port town Gaios. Gaios is very small, so don?t be worried about being near any noisy hustle and bustle, as there really isn?t any from this beautiful sleepy port.

The first floor Villa Skipper apartment we stayed in was very large (sleeping four people) with two ensuite bathrooms, an open plan kitchen and living area and 4 balconies (3 of which overlook the sea). The pool is very clean and well maintained and uses minimal chemicals, which is a blessing for anyone sensitive to chlorine. The apartments are very quiet and the only noise we heard was the odd boat passing by. The sea is located down a small path and steps, maybe 20 metres from the apartments themselves. Here you will find a rocky sea front with crystal clear ocean and very safe stretch of water to swim in.

During our stay Spiros ad his wife came to manage the gardens, pool or apartments on a daily basis and they are very discrete and friendly. They were very helpful with great advice on places to go and eat.

There are many excellent restaurants in Gaios, with Takka Takka (authentic Greek taverna), Il Primo (pizza), Medeterano (fish restaurant), and Genesis (larger Greek taverna) being the ones we liked best.

The island of Paxos is very small, so it?s easy to explore via car or, in our case, scooter, and the roads are very quiet. For travellers not wanting to drive the town of Gaios will serve you well for any stay and short walk along the harbour front back to the apartments is truly beautiful.
