Autumn Leaves Bungalow Sleeps 4 (2 Bedrooms)

This well-appointed bungalow is beautifully furnished, with the benefit of 2 bathrooms, making it an ideal property for 2 couples. A large decked area, leading from the lounge patio doors provides a delightful vantage point towards Skiddaw and the opportunity for breakfasting in the morning sunshine. The spacious lounge has 2 comfortable settees, TV, DVD, CD/radio player, with open fire (coal not included). There is a separate dining room with sliding doors opening onto rear patio. The kitchen is well-equipped with double electric oven, gas hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, integrated dishwasher and washing machine. There are 2 wonderful bedrooms. The front bedroom has a king-size bed, whereas the rear bedroom has a super king-size bed, which can be split into twin beds (advice on booking). The main bathroom has a bath, with shower over, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail. There is also a shower room with rainfall shower, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail. WiFi internet access.

My name is Caroline and together with my husband, Hans and our two boys we moved to The Lake District in 1990. We love this beautiful part of England and with the Lakeland fells on our doorstep can indulge in our passion for walking with our little West Highland Terrier, Pemba.

Set in the picturesque hamlet of Braithwaite, this beautifully located property,with its magnificent views towards Skiddaw and Blencathra, offers its guests easy access to all the many tourist attractions in the Northern Lake District. There are three good pubs, serving hearty local food, all within walking distance.

Winter is a magical time to visit the Lake District. Snow-capped mountain tops, morning mists and clear starry nights. Explore the tranquillity of the fells, one of our favourite's at this time of the year is Latrigg. Walkable from the centre of Keswick, it's two and-half miles and 950ft of ascent to the summit. The early slopes of this walk can feel like a backbreaker, but they soon level out to offer "the easiest of Promenades," as Wainwright put it. Excellent bungalow

We stayed in Autumn leaves in 2004 and thought it was beautiful then, but is is even more so now. Spotless, comfortable, well equipped and every need catered for. We were lucky to have lovely warm sunny days so made good use of both patios. Good pubs in the village, excellent food at the Royal Oak and super location for walks from the door or easy access to other locations. Strongly recommend

2 week Easter holiday

A lovely warm welcome greeted us at this very clean, well eqipped and extremely comfortable cottage. Very comfortable bed and perfect location for our walking holiday. No noise from the adjoining properties which were occupied. Royal Oak very good pub. Middle Ruddings good if you are a keen dog fan.

Simply ideal!

We needed a location on one level for two retired couples, close to Keswick for sentimental reasons and with easy access to Penrith station. 'Autumn Leaves' best ticked those boxes, along with ample warmth, most comfortable beds and a spacious kitchen with all that we could possibly need. Two husbands with long experience in the editorial field could spot barely the slightest shortcoming (high praise!) - and even managed a working session while the ladies shopped!

We enjoyed two excellent meals next door at Middle Ruddings, and visits to nearby Thornthwaite Gallery. Most of all, we were able to re-visit many places in the area that three generations of our family have appreciated over the years. Thank you, Caroline, for providing such a welcoming base to return to each day.

Communication worked smoothly during the booking process, while we were at the bungalow and following our return home.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Braithwaite. Autumn Leaves bungalow was perfect in every way. Spotlessly clean and the two bathrooms were amazing. The only fault was traffic noise.

Practically Perfect!

Autumn Leaves is that rare beast - the self catering accommodation with everything! It's warm, comfortable, has fabulous views, plentiful hot water and a well equipped kitchen with a bread knife that actually cuts bread!

The walk in shower was perfect for my Venerable Pa who has reached the age when everything on one level is a real bonus. The seating area in the front of the bungalow was the icing on the cake.

I would recommend Autumn Leaves to families, couples and anyone who is looking for fabulous accommodation in the Keswick area.

Lovely property with all the home comforts. We loved the views and it was nice to have accessibility to walk to the hotel next door for Sunday lunch. The property is very nicely decorated and surpassed our expectations. The bathrooms and bedrooms were well equipped and modern. It is very conveniently located for Keswick and easy to find just off the main road. The road is the only downside for traffic noise however you can't do much about this and it would not put us off returning to this lovely property. Thank you to the owners who were very helpful.

Keswick likes to be known as a place for all seasons offering something for everyone including walkers, cyclists, fell runners, tourists, kayakers, and paragliders. It's developing a reputation as the Adventure Capital of the Lake District, if not England with mountain summits, forest trails and lakeside paths to be enjoyed. You can enjoy almost any outdoor pursuit during your stay.

Just a short walk from Keswick is Derwentwater, where you can enjoy a breathtaking journey on one of the beautiful wooden steamers.

The thriving market town of Keswick has a wide variety of shops, art galleries and attractions, where something special can often be found. The mainly pedestrianised town centre is a great place to browse and shop. Keswick probably has more outdoor and adventure shops per square mile than anywhere else in the country and a great range of antique shops, bookshops and jewellery sellers.

The market comes to town on Thursdays and Saturdays and savouring the local food is a must, which includes some of the best bacon, cheeses and Cumberland sausages you'll ever taste! These are available from the market stall holders and in Keswick's numerous cafés, restaurants and pubs.

Keswick is very family-friendly with safe parks including Hope Park and Fitz Park with 18 hole putting greens, beautiful gardens, leisure facilities and children's play areas. Other attractions include the Theatre by the Lake, Lonsdale Alhambra Cinema, Mining Museum, Cumberland Pencil Museum and The Puzzling Place (puzzles and optical illusions).

A number of annual festivals are staged throughout the year including the Keswick Jazz Festival in May, Keswick Mountain Festival in May, Keswick Beer Festival in June, Bassenthwaite Regatta in August, Derwentwater Trail Race in September, Loweswater Show in September, Keswick Food Fayre and Christmas Lights Switch-on in November and the Traditional Christmas Fayre in December.

The security bond is not applied to rent and is fully refundable within 7 days of departure, as per the terms and conditions of the booking.

15 - 28 days before the date of arrival - 25% of rental (less £ 100.00 for administration fees)
