Nearest Airport : Cardiff at 50 Miles Nearest Ferry : Pembroke Dock at 8 Miles Nearest Golf : Penally at 5 Miles Nearest Train : Manorbier at 1 Miles Nearest Motorway : M4 at 20 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Tenby at 5 Miles Nearest Beach : Manorbier at 1 Miles Car: recommended

The Haggard is within 15 minutes walk of several beautiful beaches. In Manorbier itself, the large sandy beach is gently sloping and therefore ideal for smaller children. It has many fascinating rock pools to explore with a babbling brook flowing down to the sea giving hours of entertainment for everyone. Given the right wind direction this is also a popular beach for surfing and of course the Pembrokeshire coastal path runs along the headland above the beach.

The nearest airports are Cardiff and Bristol which are 2, 2 1/2 hour drive respectively. There is a railway station at Manorbier which is a 10 minute walk away and local buses, but to explore the area fully it is recommended to hire a car. If you are walking the coastal path there is a coastal hopper bus that operates in the summer.

Manorbier village, which is a 10 minute walk has a well-stocked shop and Post Office which is open all hours. There is a pub and a hotel, both of which serve food if you do not wish to travel the five miles into Tenby which has lots of seafood pubs and restaurants and shops selling local produce.

Further Details:

Pembrokeshire is a wonderful county for anyone interested in the great outdoors, offering a fabulous range of pursuits for nature-lovers, walkers, climbers, sailors, surfers, horse-riders or cyclists. It is also an ideal location for families, with its many beautiful sandy beaches as well as castles and all-weather attractions.

The Pembrokeshire coastline has several stunning islands worth a visit, including the monastery and lighthouse on Caldey Island, off Tenby, famous for its chocolates, perfume and monks! Skomer island with its amazing bluebells and landscape is renowned for its puffins - a sight to savour. Boat trips around Ramsey and Skomer islands will always delight and offer an opportunity to watch the seals basking in the sunshine on the rocks.

Tenby is the nearest seaside town and has a supermarket, banks and building societies.

There are also plenty of wet weather attractions within a 10 mile radius including Folly Farm, the Dinosaur Park and Annas Wildlife Zoo for the younger members of the family and Heatherton, and the aquadome at Bluestone for anyone looking for fun on a wet day. There are good leisure centres in Tenby, Pembroke and Haverfordwest which are open all year.
