There is a wide choice of eating establishments to cater for everyone from beach bars, to both modern and traditional Spanish restaurants, as well as international cuisine, a short five minute walk will take you to the culinary delights of the bars and restaurants at the Casares Golf Club.

About the Owner

We bought our penthouse apartment here in Casares because the area has everything we could ask for ensuring we have a really enjoyable holiday time and time again. It's location is peaceful and quiet, great for simply relaxing and enjoying the weather. If you prefer to be more active then the beach/golf/walking/cycling/bird watching etc are all within close proximity. If you're into great food, there's so much choice from casual beach-side, international in Duquesa, Marbella and Puerto Banus, and rural ventas -traditional Spanish, including some fantastic conversions. It's our second home so we've aimed to make it a home from home experience. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. If you have any questions at all just call or email – we’re always happy to help.

Outstanding Apartment

This was our 5th stay in this apartment - That should let you know that we love our trips here! - The apartment is a top floor spacious, well equipped home away from home with everything you need. There is a parking garage below so your car will stay cool and lift access directly from the garage so it is easy to get shopping/luggage up to the apartment. The apartment itself has a large airy lounge with good quality furniture and a dining table that sits 6 easily. There is a door to a very large terrace, again with a large table and chairs for outside dining (which we do all the time) there is a gas barbeque and spiral stairs to another terrace on the roof if you would like private sunbathing, with a lovely view. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you could need and there is also a small terrace off the kitchen which is perfect for hanging towels, swimwear etc for drying, the washing machine is also on this terrace with storage for beach bags etc. The bedrooms are large with very comfortable beds and good quality bedding and ample hanging and drawer space. The en-suite off the main bedroom is large and has bath and shower, toilet, bidet and 2 sinks! again lots of storage. There is also another double room and a twin with a shared bathroom, again, all beautifully furnished and very clean. Also this year, Brian has upgraded the internet and TV package which was a brilliant bonus. Internet is very quick and was nice to get some English TV (most Spanish properties do not get English TV anymore) There is air conditioning which is nice to use when you have been in the sun all day but we like to open windows and enjoy the Spanish air at night. The pool can also be accessed via the lift to the ground floor and a very short stroll through the gardens. The pool area is immaculate and kept to a very high standard with plenty of beds and umbrellas for shade. There is also a separate children's pool. The lady that cares for the apartment keeps the apartment well and is only a phone call away if any problems. We would say that, in our opinion, a car is a must if you are staying here. There is a local Mercodana supermarket with an amazing selection of fresh fish and everything you could possibly need and a choice of local beaches should you wish to spend a day at the beach. We stay here for 3/4 weeks every year and LOVE our time here and are always sad to leave and look forward to our return. We would highly recommend this apartment.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Tick your pick of the many blue-flag beaches in the area. Casares beach is under 1km away (with parking), and continues on to Sabinillas town, and Estepona in the opposite direction. For those who are more active, a number of water sports including water-skiing, scuba diving, banana boats, fishing are all available in the local area.

Travel:

To get the most from your stay a hire car is recommended and is available from the airport. The roads are very good to drive on and Toll roads are quiet and well sign-posted. The average cost from Malaga airport (45 minutes away) in the high season is around 10 euros. Gibraltar airport is closer but flights are less frequent, and you'll probably experience some congestion on the outskirts.

Distances:

Seville, Cordoba and Granada are achievable in a day. The ancient town of Ronda can also be visited by car (1.25 hrs) or by train from San Roque. The picturesque port of La Duquesa is less than 2 kms away and has restaurants and bars to suit all tastes. 5 minutes to the west by car to Sabinillas. 10 minutes to the east by car to Estepona. 10 minutes to the north by car to the beautiful old 'white' village of Casares. 25 minutes to the west by car to Gibraltar; bring passports!

The nearest quality supermarkets are only a 5 minute drive away towards Estepona . There is a Lidl supermarket on right as you drive towards Sabinillas. 1km from the apartment is a taxi rank and also a petrol station with basic supplies The nearest banks, chemists & local shops are also in Sabinillas. During the summer, market days in the locals town are definitely worth a visit with everything on display from shoes, handbags, jewellery, arts and crafts and local produce. Change-over days are flexible to help you get the best flight deals. Arrival/departure times are also flexible depending on availability; earliest/late must be agreed at time of booking.
