In addition to skiing and cycling, the chalet is convenient for shopping and sightseeing, with Tarbes, Pau and Lourdes all close by, and for golfers there is a beautiful 18-hole course (overlooking the mountains) within 5 minutes drive of the chalet. Walking opportunities are extensive in this area and there are many fabulous walks all within close reach. Trout fishing, horse riding, para-gliding, flying, motocross, go-karting, rock-climbing, canoeing, sailing and rafting are also all catered for locally. Or you can take things at a more leisurely pace and visit the charming local French and Basque mountain villages, the beautiful Jurancon wine region near Pau or take a day trip over the mountains into Spain via the many passes or tunnels. Within 1 Hour 40 Drive From Toulouse And Biarritz Airports, 30 Minutes To Tarbes Lourdes Airport

We love visiting France for its culture, great scenery and we particularly love mountains and walking. We visited the Hautes Pyrenees recently and immediately fell in love with the area. It is traditional France, with many old customs, and the people are very friendly. On our first day in the area we met a French farmer bringing his sheep down from the mountains on the main road. The Pyrenees mountains themselves are awe inspiring and a wonderful back drop to the many walks you can do in the area. We have always wanted to buy a property in France and we knew when we visited Bagneres de Bigorre in the Pyrenees that we had found the perfect place for our home in France. We hope that you will love the place as much as we do.

What makes this chalet unique

The main attraction of Villa Tamerza when we decided to buy the house was that it was situated in the countryside yet was only 5 minutes from Bagneres de Bigorre with all its facilities, restaurants and a place to buy your croissants in a morning. Of course the fact that you can wake up to views of the Pyrenees mountains each day is incomparable. The house has its own pool and tennis court, plus is an excellent base for cyclists (it is on the main Tour de France route and is a mecca for cycling), which were added bonuses not only for ourselves but also for our guests. You can quickly drive to many great scenic areas in the region as you are already close to the mountains not only for walking but also for skiing and many other outdoor activities.

"We had a brilliant holiday thank you. The children especially enjoyed the pool and getting them out was the hardest part of the holiday! We found Richard very friendly and helpful, going out of his way to help or give advice on walks, where to eat etc. We found the villa very clean and comfortable with everything we could ask for to make our holiday enjoyable. We also had some extra visitors including bats, lots of lizards and even a baby deer in the garden one morning! We would certainly recommend the villa to friends and family."

"We stayed in Villa Tamerza in February to make use of the superb location as a base for a skiing holiday. Our party of ten found the house to be extremely comfortable, warm, spacious and fitted to a very high standard. Everything you could need has been catered for, our children especially enjoyed the Games Room on a wet afternoon and the brilliant selection of DVDs kept us all entertained in the evening! The beds were the best we have ever slept on in a rental location and very much appreciated after a long day on the slopes. We would not hesitate to highly recommend Villa Tamerza for a holiday."

Booking Notes:
Upon booking, a 25% deposit is required with a completed booking form with final balance due 8 weeks before departure. A refundable security deposit of £200 is also payable on booking to cover damage or loss. A booking form and invoice are both provided. Based on a maximum occupancy of 12 guests.

Changeover Day:
The normal change over day is Saturday and we kindly request guests to arrive after 4pm and depart by 10am. We will endeavour to accommodate stays of part-weeks during low and shoulder seasons - please enquire.

Notes on accommodation: Villa Tamerza offers extensive living accommodation with the benefit of a private pool and tennis court. It is therefore excellent for large families, groups of friends, but also offers a comfortable option for couples or smaller groups. The villa is particularly popular with skiers, cyclists and walkers but is also a good base for general sightseeing in the area. The chalet is overseen locally by a local English couple who have been based in the region for over 5 years who are on call during your stay and who handle the turn around service. The chalet is within easy reach of all local amenities including supermarkets as well as the local boulangerie, boucherie, plus a range of restaurants in Bagneres de Bigorre. Outside: The chalet is situated in circa 2 acres of private garden which offers a swimming pool (8m x 4m and 1.5m deep, unheated) and a full size tennis court (for private use of guests). There is an outside terrace with access from the kitchen overlooking the pool with an outside table and seating. There is a long drive to the rear of the chalet with ample parking for several cars. A BBQ, garden furniture and tennis racquets are available for use and stored in the basement. Utility Room: Villa Tamerza has a chalet-style basement with inside parking for one car, washing machine, tumble dryer, log store, sun loungers, garden furniture, BBQ and games room with table tennis table. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are provided and changed weekly (sun towels are not provided for use around the swimming pool). The chalet is cleaned and prepared before arrival. A local English couple oversee the chalet and are on call for any eventualities.
