About Tracey Souter

Having spent most of my adult life in Las Vegas learning all about the restaurant/hospitality industry i moved to London in 2005 where i met my wife and when we were lucky enough to have our daughter 2 years later we decided to leave the rat race behind and follow our dream. Tracey is a Westcountry girl so we returned to her roots and fell in love with the rugged countryside and stunning coastline of North Cornwall. We haven't looked back and feel blessed to be able to live in this magical part of the country. We have found the best possible area to fully indulge our passion, food !

Tracey Souter purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Tracey Souter chose North Cornwall

The cottage sits adjacent to our home and in gardens of about 3/4 acre. We were drawn to this area for it's peaceful rural location but with easy access to amenities, beaches, rugged countryside walks and the ability to get to a bigger town if the need for retail therapy grabs you !

Bodmin Moor, steeped in history is right on our doorstep. We are also just off the A30 so the perfect location to explore further in to Cornwall or Devon, just across the border !

What makes this cottage unique

Food is our passion. We grow our own fruit/vegetables and have daily fresh eggs from our chickens. Cornwall provides us with the best seafood/free range meat in the country and we use this to the best of our ability to appeal to our customers in a diverse exciting manner. If you want to have a self catering vacation, that's fine, the kitchen is well equipped with all mod cons. You could choose bed and breakfast and we will prepare a continental or full English breakfast using the best locally sourced produce. Alternatively we can provide occasional catering. Just contact us beforehand to discuss. We are here to make your holiday memorable.

Perfect hidden gem and hide away.

Our stop was short but was exactly what the doctor ordered. Quiet, tranquil and relaxing. The cottage was very comfortable and very unique...but also a home from home. Hosts were very accommodating and helpful. The spa - sauna in particular was just great. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Perfect holiday retreat in every way with great hosts.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have just spent five perfect days based at Liberty Barn Cottage. The cottage was clean, tidy and had everything required to make the perfect place to stay and the added touches of fresh flowers and plants around the house just showed how much our hosts Mark and Tracey want their guests to feel at home. We indulged in one of Mark's home prepared meals on our last night and weren't disappointed and would highly recommend to everyone.

Best Little Guest House in Cornwall

  • 5 of 5

The first thing you feel arriving at this property is warmth and that happy feeling you've booked the right place! The setting is very pretty and the cottage is nicely furnished and very fresh. Mark and Tracey are very welcoming and their daughter quickly collared our son for a play around the property with some friends; he felt right at home immediately. And then there's Nelly, the family bundle of white fluff -- she's a cutie...a dog by the way.

I booked the cottage for my family during the week of my birthday so on the day and after a trip down to The Minack Theatre (a must) for an afternoon performance, Mark (a chef with a lovin' touch) prepared a very special birthday feast for us in the evening with some of my favourite things -- yum!

Can't recommend this property enough...haven't even mentioned the sauna and hot tub yet. Book and find out!

Another Great Stay at Liberty Barn

  • 5 of 5

This is our 2nd stay at Liberty Barn and again thoroughly enjoyable and very well looked after. The welcome hamper was even better than last time and that's saying something. The cottage was again lovely and clean, well presented, warm and cozy, full of linen, cutlery and everything you'd need for a week away in Cornwall.

It's in a fantastic location with lots of beaches and other attractions less than an hour away, you'll be hard pressed to find such a lovely holiday cottage, with such fantastic owners for the price and dog walks on your door step.

The best compliment I can pay to Mark and Tracey is that the dogs are just as relaxed as they are when we're at home (thats a rareity) and that whenever we're there we just want to pick the cottage up and move it into our Village.

Thank You Mark and Tracey for another great stay, we will return soon. :)
