Cozy cottage easy access to Uig and ferry

Joan is a wonderful host and this cottage apartment was cozy and perfect for my needs while exploring the Isle of Skye. The bath, living area and kitchen are downstairs and the bed upstairs. The kitchen had everything to be able to cook for myself. The bed upstairs has a foam top and was very comfortable. The linens for both bed and bath were nice and soft. Easy parking off the road.

Uig right next door. It is small but has restaurant/pub, gas station and little grocery and is very close.

The location makes it very easy to get to the Quiraing, Fairy Glen and Portree. It is very close to the Fairy Glen. The ferry to Isles of Lewis and Harris is so close (in Uig) that I had no problems making the 5:30am ferry out that allowed for a same-day return in the afternoon.

The view out the kitchen window is lovely and makes washing up a very pretty chore!

I would certainly recommend the Old Post Office.

I have lived here since I got married in 1967. The apartment used to be a Post Office but has been converted to a self catering apartment.

Approx 2 miles to the village of Uig and 14 miles to the main town of Portree.

Further Details:

Small post office/shop and filling station/shop in village of Uig approx 2 miles away. Main supermarket and shops in Portree approx 14 miles.


Rental rates


  • Booking Notes:
    Deposit of £100 per week and balance to be paid 3 weeks prior to arrival.

    Changeover Day:
    Preferred changeover day is Saturday but this is flexible.
    Arrival time - 1400 hours
    Departure time - 1000 hours
