A beautiful ground floor, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment set in a small complex, with it’s own gated garden leading out to the communal area and swimming pool/children’s shallow end. The apartment is fully equipped with air-conditioning/heating and is fully furnished to a high standard. Ideally located, close to family friendly restaurants and bars, as well as a supermarket and shops. Under 10 minutes walk from two beaches and just 5 minutes walk to the cosmopolitan marina of Cala D’Or, with it’s luxury yachts and some fantastic restaurants. Just 5 minutes by car or taxi is the lively resort of Cala D’Or with a number of great restaurants, bars and shops. A road train circulates local beaches, the resort of Cala D’Or and the beautiful blue flag beach and national park of Cala Mondrago. The traditional fishing village of Porto Petro and fish restaurants, as well at local markets, villages and monasteries are all a short distance by car or taxi. 45 – 60 minutes from airport.

Good apartment but needing maintenance

Apartment size was good, common grounds were well kept. However, we had no hot water for most of our stay because of what I was told was a faulty thermostat on the boiler. I also had to unblock the drain under the kitchen sink as it was blocked with food debris. The flat was generally a bit grotty/ musty and dated. Every plate/ pan had to be cleaned before use to get the mustiness away.

The housekeeper did visit when informed about the lack of hot water but the boiler was not repaired satisfactorily at any point. Therefore cold showers/ no baths. Ideally things like a new tv and wifi would be installed.

Although we left the flat clean, the owner kept our deposit after a two week stay for cleaning which seemed a bit tight.

We will go back to Cala D'Or but we've stayed in nicer apartments than this before and will again.

Owner's Response: As guests were first occupiers of the season, we visited the apartment the week prior to make sure everything was in order. It appeared to be so at that time. Very unfortunate about the boiler breaking down and yes, it took a couple of visits to repair the fault. We knew nothing about kitchen sink being blocked until the review was posted yesterday, 6 months after their stay. The sink was not blocked when we left the property the week before. The guests requested their deposit back this week, 6 months after their stay. At this time we advised the reason no deposit would be returned was due to 2 things. - Extra and unexpected cleaning required on departure. To expand, as well as using additional linen during their stay, 2 X single duvets had to be laundered, not just the duvet covers. Thankfully the mattress protectors did their job on both separate occasions. - Upon arrival guests asked housekeeper whether they could rent a cot. This was arranged but was not paid for which meant the rental charge for this had to be paid by ourselves. The total costs involved surpassed the amount of deposit received. As a result of our experiences we have reluctantly decided to increase the total deposit required for future guests, which in 99.9% of cases is returned within the agreed 14 days following departure.

Excellent apartment-just what we were looking for!

We had stayed in Cala Egos before and wanted to come back to this lovely area. The apartment was everything we could have wanted. The private garden next to the pool was perfect allowing a perfect balance of privacy and pool access. The apartment has all the facilities you could want and has the best aircon we have encountered in a holiday rental. We would definitely recommend it and if we decide to return to Cala Egos we would definitely use this apartment again.

Lovely Apartment,great for families

This apartment provided us with a quiet location,lovely secluded garden and a great swimming pool.The apartment is very close to restaurants,shops and the local supermarket.The surrounding area has lots to offer,with pretty coves and marinas,plenty of activities for families.The apartment was very spacious and clean and provided us with all the equipment we needed for a great holiday.I would certainly recommend this apartment to family and friends.

FANTASTIC HOLIDAY ACCOMMODATION

We had a fantastic time at the holiday apartment. The apartment was very beautiful, large, spotless with a lovely large private garden, then just feet from the lovely swimming pool. The apartment complex is quite small and we were delighted to have the swimming pool to ourselves on many occasions - it felt like it was our own private swimming pool. The apartment has everything you could need and we cannot wait to return hopefully in 2015. Thank you

Excellent Accomodation

The appartment was of very high quality, with all the mod-cons allowing a family to fully enjoy their holiday. Myself and my children loved the pool esp with the accomodation being on the ground floor it made it very easy to keep an eye on the children. The village of Cala egos (approx 3min walk) is also very family friendly with lots of bars and restuarants catering for young families. The Thursday night market is fantastic. Cala D'or is a very short journey away and is full of activity.

On this occasion we hired a car for conveniece. However next time (and due to the way car chire now works with the pre-paid petrol) we would use a taxi. Over the 2 journeys its cheaper by about ?50.

My family really enjoyed everythin about this holoday and would not hesitate revisting the apprtment and Cala Egos

Bicycles can be hired locally to explore the many beautiful routes in the surrounding area.

Coast/Beach:

There are many beaches and cala’s around the area. Within Cala Egos there are 2 beaches within walking distance - 5 - 10 minutes. For natural beauty the stunning Bay of Mondrago is just 10 mins drive away with two large sandy beaches. An open-top bus service runs to Cala Mondrago and back regularly. Further afield is the delightful area of Es Trenc which is a stretch of outstanding white beach with shallow waters.

Travel:

Although a car is not essential, Palma airport is approx. 60 km from Cala Egos, a 45 minutes drive. Shuttle buses or taxis are also available to Cala D’or. We recommend that if required, car hire is booked on-line, prior to the holiday to ensure availability and best prices.

A road train – the Cala d’Or Express travels from Cala d’Or to Cala Egos regularly throughout the day.

Distances:

Cala D'or is a 25 minutes stroll, through the Marina, 5 minutes by taxi which are reasonable and readily available.

Within 30 minutes by car are the villages of Colonge, Porto Petro, with many restaurants , Porto Colom, Santanyi with the bustling market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and Felantix.

Further Details:

In Cala Egos there is a large well stocked supermarket, with 2 additional smaller supermarkets in the main street that provide late night shopping. A larger supermarket can be found in Cala d’Or, as can banks with cash point machines. Santanyi has a very good market on every Wednesday and Saturday.
