Only 200m from the beach, with sandy secluded coves - ideal for snorkelling. Only 1km from the town centre with grocery shop within 100m, café within 50m. Boat trip to Berlenga island (June - September) recommended. Many interesting places to visit in the area; the picturesque old walled town of Obidos, Mafra and its magnificent monastery, the shrine of Fatima, the colourful fishing village of Nazare. Transport from/to Lisbon airport (55 miles, 1 hour drive) can be arranged. Many beaches nearby are great for swimming and water sports, and famous for surfing, from the legendary Super Tubes to the graceful waves of Baleal. Peniche has a water slides park Sportagua, which offers a great fun family day out. Surrounding area is full of character and variety. Peniche, Serra D'el Rei, Ferrel all have shops, cafes, restaurants, parks. The superb Praia D'el Rei 5* Golf Resort, Bom Successo, Golden Eagle (and many more) offer top-notch golf (all within 30 mins).
I live in Scotland with my husband and pet parrot Murphy. Our two children are grown up now and live away from home. As you can probably guess from my name, I am originally Portuguese and Peniche is my original home town. I have many friends and relatives in Peniche and in the surrounding area. I am very proud of my Portuguese heritage. Every summer and often at other times of the year too, we holidayed in our apartment. It was our second home. We just recently bought a new property just 3 doors away, and so the reason for letting the apartment.

We love Peniche because of the fantastic facilities in the area. There are some beautiful beaches and the marina and promenade boasts a great range of bars and restaurants. There really is something for everyone here. The area is easily accessible with Lisbon airport just an hours drive away.
The property is just ten minutes walk from the local beach, and just 20 minutes walk from the town centre. For those who enjoy a more active holiday, you can take advantage of fantastic surfing, watersports, the water slides park, and nearby golf courses. If you are looking for great food in the comfort of the apartment, we can also recommend local take-aways who can provide delicious lunch and evening meals at reasonable prices. We’ve had many happy barbecues and meals on the roof terrace overlooking the nice sea views. We’ll send you an information pack when booking.
Myself and my partner stayed in the apartment for 10 nights in July 2013. It?s a lovely, well equipped apartment with a large roof terrace with a sea view towards the harbour. There are four good sized bedrooms ? all doubles, a nice living room and large kitchen with a great stove. The location was perfect for us, it was just a few minutes? walk to the local beach where there?s a caf? and a good quality restaurant. The town centre is about a 15 minute stroll away and I regularly walked to one of the main beaches in Peniche in about 20 ? 25 minutes. In the immediate vicinity there are various cafes and a small local supermarket. It was the first time we?d visited Peniche and loved it. Really nice food, beautiful beaches, (especially good for surfing) and friendly people. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, we regularly ate at Restaurant Popular for the fish, (the dourada was delicious) and also Restaurant Nau, (recommended by Ligia, the apartment owner) for some simple local food and wine, which was great value.
