The town is a fabulous place to enjoy a romatic break or time exploring the area with friends or family. There are many great places to eat and many lovely food shops and a deli to purchase local produce and cook up a feast to enjoy back at the cottage in front of the fire. The owners are local and are very happy to be on hand to recommend local walks, cycle routes or places to visit and eat.

The cottage has a secure rear garden, very suitable for dogs and there are plenty of walks right from the doorstep. The local pubs are all very dog welcoming ...

About Emma Jennings

Hello, my partner Jim and I have lived in Winchcombe for 14 years and we love the town, it has a great community spirit, very friendly, great pubs, restaurants, shops, deli, galleries and antique emporiums.

Jim is a really keen mountain biker (I dabble on the easier trails!) and we love walking our 2 pointer dogs and socialising with our friends. We are really looking forward to welcoming guests to the cottage and will be happily on hand for any advice required by our visitors. Any questions you have about the cottage and local area, please do not hesitate to contact us, we will be delighted to help. Thanks Emma

Why Emma Jennings chose Winchcombe

We already live in the town and wanted to buy and second property as a holiday let business... Vineyard St is one of the most beautiful Cotswolds Streets and leads to the gates of Sudely Castle

A very pretty, well-equipped cottage which is presented to a high standard.

  • 5 of 5

We were greeted by the very pleasant owner of the cottage who gave us the key, explained a few things to us and made us feel welcome. We were very touched by the delicious homemade fairy cakes she had left for us! The decor of the cottage is extremely charming with lots of nice little touches, which make it very homely. Everything we needed was provided, with plenty of towels, kitchen equipment, etc. As we had our two dogs with us the pretty enclosed garden was a real plus and provided a very pleasant place to sit out for a glass of wine in the evening! The cottage is incredibly conveniently placed being in a lane just off the main street in Winchcombe, a couple of minutes walk from Sudeley Castle and close to lots of beautiful walks. Winchcombe is a delightful little Cotswold town, set in stunning countryside, with plenty of tea rooms, pubs, shops and very good fish & chips! There is quite a large antiques emporium with is well worth a browse. You are in easy drive of lots of famous Cotswolds gems like Bourton-on-the water, Stow-on-the-wold and Broadway. We visited a pub call the Mount Inn at Stanton which has fabulous views, ditto the The Royal Oak at Gretton. I highly recommend this cottage and this area for a really relaxing and enjoyable break. The dogs are total agreement!

Lovely cottage in excellent location

  • 4 of 5

This cottage has everything you need for a very comfortable and relaxing break.

Its location cannot be beaten for walking with 4 marked footpaths only 100 yards away.

The walk to The Royal Oak at Gretton has wonderful views and a really lovely dog friendly pub stop for lunch.

Check out WinchcombeWelcomesWalkers on the web - it has fantastic walks described in full.

Look no further than The Plaisterers Arms for a lovely dog friendly pub - only 200 yards from the cottage.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Carrot cake and fresh bread that Emma had left for us.

It rained 3 out of our 4 days which was a bit disappointing. So the washing machine came in very handy for our wet clothes and dog towels. (There are 2 dog towels provided as well.)

Despite the bad weather, our car remained parked outside the cottage for the whole 4 days and got fat through lack of exercise :-))

The only reason I did not give this cottage 5 stars was because the kitchen is very small and really can only cope with 1 person at a time. Also the main oven had not been cleaned and it tripped a fuse and then refused to work. But the owners were very quick to respond and very apologetic.

This certainly did not affect our enjoyment of our stay and we wished we could have stayed longer.

Have already recommended this cottage to several of our walking friends and we hope to return when the weather is better.

Owner's Response: Hi Janet Thank you for your great review and once again apologies for the issue with the oven. To reassure you we replaced the oven with a brand new model immediately that week, so for a future visit and future guests there wont be an issue. Wish it was as easy to "fix" weather issues :-) Thank you for choosing our cottage and hope to see you again Kind Regards Emma

Superb stay

  • 5 of 5

We arrived on a beautiful crisp and sunny day and couldn't believe how lucky we were to have found this cosy cottage. The location is in an ideal position close to shops, pubs and restaurants and of course all the wonderful walks.

We loved the cottage and didn't want to leave, hopefully we will return in the future.

Thank you Emma

Lovely cosy country cottage

  • 5 of 5

Cosy, comfortable, well equipped cottage in a great location within the village, close to all local amenities, pubs and restaurants. Winchcombe is a good base for exploring the north of the Cotswolds. Great walks direct from the cottage. Comfortable double beds and cosy front room. Ideal country retreat.
