About Sylvia

My wife and I have owned a property in Menorca for 27 years.

We first came looking, for a Mediterranean island not too far from the UK that was still essentially Spanish in its true culture and way of life, and not the modern Hybrid Spanish fast food/ding-dong Spain you find in Ibiza, much of Majorca and the major Canary Islands.

To our great pleasure we found Menorca with its minimal Development and small population of around only 85,000 people and its huge mix of natural unspoilt beaches and secret coves seemingly to be at the end of most rural roads.

We had found an island with an enormous wealth of Mediterranean and European history which has been occupied by every western Empire throughout history.

The legacy of which can be seen in the unique Menorcan culture and its people.

Why Sylvia chose Balearic Islands

Port Addaia with its small marina is a fabulous little upmarket village location close but not too close to the local resort of Arenal Den Castell and you will find villa Amelia very conveniently positioned for the bars and next to a lovely pine grove.

In Port Addaia we have up to four local bars/restaurants and a well stocked mini supermarket few minutes (2 - 6 min's) stroll away and the lovely Marina bar/restaurant "La Cantina" about 7 to 8 minutes walk away, its a very peaceful and safe location with no through traffic and comprises mostly of privately owned villas.

What makes this villa unique

Villa Amelia has been furnished specifically to a very high specification to rent out during the holiday season, we do not live there ourselves as we have our own villa nearby.

We provide a Free MEET & WELCOME for our clients to help settled you in.

You will find villa Amelia to be very private, particularly the pool terrace as it adjoins a tranquil (greenbelt) Pine Grove, with its chorus of song birds. Locally at Coves Noves there is a new super Water Fun Park and then at the local resort of Arenal we have Arenal's beautiful natural horseshoe shaped beach. For the boating and water-sport lovers their requirements should be fulfilled at the Ports Marina. For walkers & cyclists we have the new local path/track the "Cami-de-Cavalls".

Notes on accommodation: This attractive and eye-catching villa was designed in the Neo-Classical style by a distinguished award winning Menorcian architect. His layout design positioned the two Master bedroom suites at each end of the villa separated by two center bedrooms thus providing great adult privacy. The villas three separate terraces make it an ideal property for two families to share for when a little privacy and quiet time can easily be found when needed. We will meet you when you arrive at the villa (by arrangement) to give you the keys. Outside: The pool and sunbathing terrace is very private, the large pool being triangular in shape, around 33ft long and is quite deep. The terrace is equipped with sun loungers and umbrella shades and a poolside table and chairs. There are 2 large off-road parking bays at the front of the villa with a sliding door to secure them from pavement and road (ideal for 2 car family clients). Note: Most Important. Children in the pool area must be supervised by parents or responsible adults. Utility Room: Washing machine, sink, first aid box, vacuum cleaner, brooms etc, ironing facility, expandable driers and outside drying area. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Enough fresh bed linen, towels and Beach/pool towels are provided for your stay and there is also a hair dryer in both master bedroom suites. No services will be provided during your holiday rental stay. Other: Both the lounge terrace and the bedroom terrace overlook the pool area, and the adjoining pine grove and Mediterranean sea. Each terrace can be secured with gates to assist with younger children and the access to the pool terrace area also has a gate.

A wonderful holiday at Villa Amelia

  • 5 of 5

Villa Amelia was everything that one would expect from a holiday home - and much, much more. It was indeed a home from home with lots of space, beautifully furnished and everything that we needed. Just right for us! It was the ideal place to spend the 10 days that we had, relaxing on the two verandahs or by the poolside - perfect too for breakfast, lunch or dinner outdoors.

From our initial inquiry into the possibilities of hiring the villa, the whole booking procedure was handled very professionally by owners, Tony and Sylvia and every query was answered fully and promptly.

All went smoothly from our reception into the villa by Mary, who was a mine of information about the area and helpfulness personified. She was always on hand for anything we needed or wanted to know. The house was spotlessly clean and even though it was coming to the end of the season, perfectly presented and maintained.

The location was perfect for our needs - a small, quiet and relaxing harbour area with three very good bars/ restaurants and shop within a short walking distance. The Corner Bar,about two minutes walk from the villa, was particularly good for excellent tapas. If you didn`t have a car there was a bus service to the towns of Mahon, Fornells or the beach at Arenal. Maccaret`s small beach was also a 25 min walk away.

The true test of the quality of a holiday villa would be whether one would recommend it to friends or return oneself. The answer to that would be a resounding YES!

Super Villa

  • 5 of 5

Villa Amelia is a lovely villa which easily accommodated our party of 4 adults and 4 children. There is ample space inside and out and we all enjoyed the beautiful view from the balcony. The villa was spotless and the air conditioning fantastic on very hot days.

Port Addaia is quiet and very pretty and we loved the port. We hired kayaks from here and explored the local waters. The well stocked super market is on the door step as are 3 good restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the tapas restaurant.

Son Parc was our favourite beach and very easy to get to but we also explored off the beaten track to Cala Pregonda which was a bit of a treck but absolutely beautiful.

We visited Mahon and Cuitadella, both worth a trip, and Fornells which has plenty of restaurants to choose from.

All in all a great place for a family holiday.

Great Villa Great Location

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely villa and lovely little town. The villa is top quality with air on throughout including all mod cons and your home from home requirements. We took an infant and everything was made available from cot, bedding to a blender allowing you to make up your own baby food. The town itself is about 15-20 mins from airport which is perfect commute distance. In the town there are 3 restaurants/bars and a small but ample minimart. this is not a place for those after late nights, music and dancing. But for most families and those preferring something quieter it's an idelic place. There are some trails for those that fancy a walk in to surrounding areas. fooe those wishing to go exploring there is a bus stop, but it's prob easier and best to hire a car. The lesson learnt for next time would be to make the effort and go to one of the larger supermarkets, located near airport. Whilst the local minimart is well stocked, you will pay more for the conscience, and those that wish to BBQ, would benefit from better choice of meats in a bigger chain. Overall we loved the villa and the town. We will prob be back again next year ;-)

Villa Amelia

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this Villa for the 5th time in just over 2 years and have always thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

The Villa is very well appointed with excellent facilities with views across the valley and sea beyond. A truly fabulous location. The owners Tony and Sylvia live close by and do not hesitate to provide help and advice about local facilities.

For anyone seeking a relatively quiet holiday in excellent surrounding this is the place to visit and the more lively tourist areas are a short bus ride away.

Ideal Family Accommodation

  • 5 of 5

Villa Amelia certainly lived up to all our expectations providing spacious and comfortable living accommodation as well as excellent facilities to enjoy the ideal family holiday. Set in Addaya which we still consider to be the best location on the island and only a few minutes from the local supermarket and restaurants it is ideally located for all amenities. We had a very warm welcome from the local agent ( Mary ) who was most helpful and the booking process with the owners was very reassuring and professional. We had a great holiday and found the villa most suitable for all three generations. We would certainly recommend this villa to any prospective clients seeking the ideal family holiday.
