Relaxing with lovely pool area

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed a relaxing week with my 2 daughters at Sue's villa. It is in a quiet residential location about 15 mins from the town centre and main beach. It is beautifully furnished and the pool area is lovely, it was very hot so we were glad of the shay areas. A car would have been useful but we managed using taxis to Ferragudo and another local beach. The local mini mart at Villa Nova was handy for fresh bread and bottles of water. There is no wifi but we booked a hotspot through wifi abroad which worked well. There are plenty of restaurants in Carvoeiro and a taxi back to the villa was about 4 euros. Thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing break.

Excellent Holiday

  • 5 of 5

From the first enquiry, to the end of our holiday everything has been handled perfectly. Communication with Sue was good and the info sent to us most useful. The villa is well equipped and the pool is most welcoming on those hot summer days. Location is great for exploring the Algarve or just hanging by the pool. We recommend zoo marine, Zoo Lagos and our kids loved the local ice cream shop. We would definitely recommend

Simply perfect

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a wonderful family holiday in Carvoeiro. Sue's villa is beautifully maintained, the attention to detail is very noticeable and the little extras that are provided are much appreciated. We have 3 young children (6, 4 & 21 months) and the villa was perfect for us. Plenty of space, quality cot and high chair and a fabulous pool. We walked in to the village most nights and there is a wonderful child friendly atmosphere there. All the major sites and attractions are just a 10 minute drive away and we would recommend Zoo Marine, Slide & Splash, Silves, the many beaches, pottery shops and all the fabulous restaurants. We are already planning our return trip!

Great Location

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful holiday in Sue's villa, due in no small part to the spacious accomodation, excellent facilities and terrific location. We found the property to be really handy for lots of shops and restaurants with many fine beaches located only minutes away. We have holidayed in the Algarve on several occasions and feel that the Carvoirio area is ideal for young and old alike.

Home from home!

  • 5 of 5

We've been to Carvoeiro a few times before and know the area quite well. We wanted a villa where car hire wasn't necessary, and where we could walk to bars and restaurants etc with ease. We chose Casa Palmeiras as it was in the right area, and had all the facilities we were looking for.

The villa is a real home-from-home. It has plenty of room throughout, is furnished nicely, is very clean & tidy and has all the "luxuries" you need on holiday. The air-con in the bedroom was welcome at night, and although the pool heating wasn't used it was there if we'd needed it. The pool itself, and the area around it, is large enough for a family to use in comfort and is kept very clean. The provision of beach towels was also a bonus as it saves on the luggage allowance!

Although we didn't plan on using it too much, having a TV with UK programmes was nice. Being able to keep up with the news etc first thing in a morning and last thing at night was good.

Overall, Casa Palmeiras was everything we could have wished for and more! We would have no hesitation in recommending it to others, and intend heading back there ourselves in the none-too-distant future. As the title says, it's a real "home-from-home".

Perfect Winter Sunshine

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely villa! A solo traveller, I arrived 10th November 2013 late at night and woke up to full sunshine and 27 degrees and it stayed in the mid to high twenties for the entire duration before i moved to another location just as the temperature dropped to the high teens. Cold outside at this time of year, but the villa has a lovely log fire and the villa itself always felt toasty with the fire on. There's TV with English channels to watch, DVD player, it's spacious, VERY comfortable bed, spotlessly clean, and well maintained. The kitchen is galley style and I didn't use it for cooking! The property is secure, (and easily secured) with an alarm, and the pool area is a natural sun trap. Best of all at this time of year, the pool is heated, so I was able to swim every day which by late afternoon was absolutely delightful. It is comfortably furnished, and an additional surprise was the (distant but nevertheless appreciated) sea view from the roof. The location is sub-urban, so cabs arrived on time as the villa has a street name and number. Five minutes in the car from Carvoeiro village centre, or a 20 minute walk, via the scenic route. Five minutes in the car from Intermarche (which does a decent lunch of soup, substantial main of the day, cake, coffee and juice for €7. Several restaurants in Carvoeiro were open, my favourite being the Spanish tapas bar just adjacent to the beach. The best restaurant was Rei Das Praias, 15 minutes by cab from the villa. The villa itself is about 45 mins from the airport. The villa is a spacious, comfortable, and not too big for one. I'll be back.

From the Owner

We visit the villa three or four times each year with and without our children and their families. We have been visiting the Algarve since early the 1980's and fell in love with the area on sight. Initially we had a time share apartment in nearby Monte Carvoeiro, and in 2005 decided that we wanted more time in the Algarve than our timeshare would allow and so bought the villa which we have updated without disturbing the character of the original design. Although the area has changed considerably in this time there still remains a peaceful and quiet atmosphere, and the locals will always help with strange English requests. Over the years we have made many local Portuguese friends in particular at the restaurants we visit.

From the Owner

The main reason for visiting the Algarve is the complete relaxation afforded by the villa location at the very outskirts of the village, and the privacy of its own pool. Its central location means that all the attractions that the Algarve has to offer can be easily reached. The choice of restaurants is huge and varied, and all tastes are catered for, and there are two excellent ones right around the corner from the villa. We hope you enjoy our holiday villa as much as we do!
