Superbly positioned, stone built, holiday chalet with stunning sea views across the Solent. Hurst Castle and the Needles are both clearly within view. This comfortably furnished bungalow can accommodate 4 people. A travel cot or Moses basket and high chair can be provided by request. Because the owners holiday here, all needs are catered to and you should find everything you could possibly need, making your holiday as convenient as being in a home from home! Very short walk to the safe & sandy, family friendly beach of Colwell Chine, with its quaint cafes, beach huts and gently shelving shores.

My parents have owned this property for more than 20 years. In the past they have only let to family & friends. Now that I have left my time consuming job in teaching, I have time to advertise it for them. They can then cover the running costs involved with owning a holiday chalet. I know we're biased, but we think our chalet has the best position on the site. There are clear, uninterrupted and breathtaking views across the Solent to Hurst Castle and the Needles. Passing shipping provides constant entertainment. We regret that dogs cannot be permitted to stay as guests. Sorry, but much as we love them, it's against site policy.

Great views and location.
Very friendly and helpfull owners. The chalet is beautifully located over looking the Colwell Bay. Great beaches and woods a walk away. Colwell Bay also has a very good restaurant that is with in walking distance. Yarmouth is also a 25 minute walk away with a wide variety of restaurants. The chalet is very homely and accamodated our family of four beautifully.
Fantastic spot for a holiday
What an amazing place to stay. For a family of 4 it has all you need to make a base for a great holiday on the west of the island. We have stayed in Mel's chalet twice already for a summer fortnight each time, and we booked our 2016 summer holiday already. Very comfortable, the private complex is quiet and convenient for all the shopping you'll need. And as for the view from the dining table.... I truly believe it is the best view on the island.

Activity and Interests
Many safe, sandy & award winning beaches are within easy reach of the bungalow. The nearest is a short walk, across a field, away at Colwell Bay. There is also Totland Bay a little further along the coast. The popular and unspoilt Compton beach is a short drive away. All the beaches at Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are also less than an hour's drive from the property.
Although there are small airports at Sandown and Bembridge on the Isle of Wight, the nearest commercial airports are Eastleigh at Bournemouth and Southampton.
Freshwater and Totland are the nearest villages from Cliff End. Both are less than 2 miles away. Freshwater has a wide variety of shops (inc. Coop & Sainsburys), banks, cafes, restaurants, public houses, a hairdresser and a sports centre. There is a small shop on site. Local tourist attractions include Freshwater Bay, Alum Bay (famous for coloured sands), The Needles Battery (& rocket site).
There are Coop and Sainsbury's supermarkets in Freshwater village about 10 min drive from the chalet. There are Barclays and Lloyds banks in Freshwater. The site has a small shop which sells newspapers, milk etc. There is also a laundrette on site.

Having checked the calendar for availability, please confirm your booking with a 10% non-refundable deposit to secure your booking. You will need to contact the owner. We are unable to hold reservations for longer than 7 days without a deposit. Balance should be paid 6 weeks prior to your date of arrival. Late bookings should pay full amount at time of reservation. The bungalow will be available from 2.30 pm on your day of arrival and you are asked to vacate by 10.30 am on your day of departure.
Change over day is usually Saturday, unless you are booking a short break off season.

By bank transfer or cheque. 10% secures booking. Balance payable 6 weeks prior to arrival.

- Notes on accommodation: Cot & high chair available only by prior arrangement. Parking for 2 cars is available adjacent to the property. Please note although there is no washing machine within the property, there is a launderette on the site. Outside: An unrestricted grass area with mature trees surrounds the holiday bungalows. There is a small paved area to the front of the property with a selection of outdoor furniture. Utility Room: Although there is no separate utility area in the chalet, we do provide an ironing board & iron, vacuum cleaner, spare light bulbs and various cleaning materials. There is also a small selection of outdoor furniture for use on the patio. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Changeover day is usually Saturday. The property will be available from 2.30 pm on the day of arrival. You are asked to vacate the property by 10.30 am on your day of departure. Sheets and towels will be provided. Please bring your own beach towels.
